Monitor Application and Alert

We have a 32-bit application that runs via Windows Task Scheduler. What are some good ways to alert when the application does not run or when it fails? SNMP will most likely be utilized. I have SNMP set up for many things such as monitoring alerting etc...but this application is proprietary...

The .dll is not hacked. The registry modification can also be done through the group policy mmc, via Microsoft's own interface, it is not hidden. In terms of licensing, if it is illegal, then I don't recommend it. Keep in mind that by this reasoning, VNC is illegal as well.

Could possibly be a resource problem. If it is after a certain amount of time, you may need more RAM. Make sure there is enough free space on your hard drive and defrag your system. Update your drivers and try reseating your CPU and memory. Let us know how it goes. TheSophist

If you want to find out if the file and printer sharing is the problem, then disable it. Another thing you can try is defragging your system and renewing your pagefile. Make sure you have enough free disk space and reinstall your video drivers. TheSophist

With some routers, if it is asking for a range to forward and you enter in 2235 to 2235, then it will actually deny that port. If this is the case, then forward port range 2235-2236 to .100. Hope that helps, keep us updated. TheSophist

Ummmm... puctured holes in network cables?

Since it is a home environment, I wouldn't worry too much. An easy fix would be to cut out the sections of the cable that were punctured and use grease-fittings to re-connect the wires. TheSophist
