Will Windows 7 support 3 monitors using a GTX 280 3x SLI setup?

Windows 7 RTM - already cracked.

And this is a blow to Microsoft just how? This HAS ALWAYS HAPPENED! Not to mention that just about every other piece of software in the world gets cracked. Plus I wonder how many of the folks that try to install this will be the the first complaing of issues down the road.

The worst parts of Windows 7

WMP 12 and IE 8 have worked well for me on build 7000 and even a bit better on build 7022, no show stoppers playing mp3s, dvds, avi's, basic stuff like that. IE 8 has crashed on the 7000 a couple of times, been using 7022 for only a couple days but no crashing.

It's simply a matter of the technology maturing. Indeed the crux of the issue is parallel processing which is the Holy Grail of increasing computational power these days. Not only hardware must improve but software design to take advantage of multiple processing units, and it?s not a easy task...

The 9800GX2 gets no where near 31 FPS very high, at least not on my sig rig. It's unplayable because of the stuttering. 37 FPS is well in excess of 2x real world 9800 GX2 at 1920x1200 very high settings for Crysis.

Maybe AMD is on the right track. That said, its looking like the GTX 280 is going to be about double the performance of the 9800 GX2, at least in demanding situations. I don't see AMD topping this type of performance by leaps and bounds with CF solutions when they were already behind. If a...

Multi-GPU solutions historically have not scaled well, so a lot of people tend to favor single GPU cards. Maybe ATI has made some advances that address this problem. Unfortunately its going to a couple of months before we know.

Yeah, it looks like the GTX 280 is going to easily be the fastest single GPU ever made. But I'd be shocked if it launched at $500. Maybe the 4870X2 might drop the price a bit when its launched.

High end Mobo for Q6600?

Maybe too expensive or you don't like nVidia chipsets but this Asus Striker II Extreme rocks for me. Been running this OC for a month and its great. I can't stand the wait for my two GTX 280's!
