I do tons of Adove Lightroom and Photoshop and video rendering. My last upgrade was 2 yrs ago and my next one...
The timings were at 5-5-5-12 and the voltage I have tried increasing. I have the redline Mushkins. BUT I will try loosening the timings even more and cranking up the voltage higher.
I recently ugraded my Intel D975XBX2 (BadAxe2) System from 4GB to 8GB. I've been running an old e6600 (2.4 stock) at 3.2GHz with not much effort (i.e. on air and with just fsb increase no voltage increase).
I threw the other 4GB of Mushkin redline RAM and that gave me a total of 8GB but no...
Thank you for your reply...I have been thinking about this in the last two days. I am re-building a budget server for a charity. The existing server is a 3.0GHz Pentium 4 1.5GB ram with a Raid 1 disk, and one hot-swap back-up disk running Win2k3 that the majority of the time serves as the file...
Please help me in selecting the right motherboard and processor. I will be setting up windows server 2003.
I can go AMD or Intel.
Please help me out. I would appreciate your hand-on experience with the particular motherboard running Server 2003. i.e. driver and peripheral compatibility...
That is what I was afraid of. I am actually installing a brand new machine and that is what I will do.
Thanks good advice. I was planning to use a bootup application (like partition magic), any other good ones you know?
Trashman - thanks for the tip - yes a separate drive would be better, however, I really want to endup with my 150GB raptor booting up with Vista on it and I can't really cough up for another raptor - so it brings me back to the original question. Thanks anyway....
I need some advice from people who have experience in the following......I am running a great windows XP Pro box which boots from a 150GB raptor. I want to try Vista, and eventually move to Vista - but - only and only when I am happy that all my necessary peripherals and devices run smoothly...
Tyan is good and stable for server apps. if you are interested in oc'ing then look somewhere else. I use an Asus A8N-SLi Premium with an Opteron 175 bolted to it. It runs well with good oc'ing prospects.
"Bottom line: RAID-0 arrays will win you just about any benchmark, but they'll deliver virtually nothing more than that for real world desktop performance. That's just the cold hard truth."

OK...A couple of lock-up and restarts...hmmm did I mention before that I use a dual monitor setup? Well I got two monitors running on the eVGA 6600 LE using nVidia multiview...and guess what ...that was causing the problem. I had intermittent problems in my monitor where mouse clicks, menus...
RideFree - I have now updated to 6.7. Not using the Firewall or the Storage(IDE) drivers.
I have to learn now how to set up the manual settings for RAM etc. I must mention that I have experienced a couple of v. short freezes and then everything's been fine so far. I am starting to actually use...
