Does anyone here understand that hardware is only as a good as it's software?
I recommend taking a gander at an indepth visual comparison of GTA V on the PS3 and 360, and how it compares to GTA IV. The hardware hasn't changed but visuals sure have. I suppose we can speculate that a version...
You do know that Microsoft makes a HUGE profit from windows. Where as each console they sell at a loss or break even. Of course, is GFWL any worse than Windows itself? Ask yourself that?
BTW... I would like to point out that EA is the distributor of Valve's games that you find in retail stores.
I have a Powerbook G4 @ 1.3GHz w/ 1GB RAM running Leopard... got it in 2003... came with Jaguar (10.3)... I can understand if you compared Jaguar to Leopard... but Windows? How about you compare XP to 98 or Vista with Win2K. For those comparing XP with Tiger... on a system 4 years of age or...
THe $180 card probably supports more simultaneous sounds, and has effects, and other things. THe reality is you don't need any of this. Audio processing is not a CPU hog. Hell the $180 card probably uses more RAM and CPU than the $30.
Get the $30 card.
I assume your including not only the Windows Folder, but the Program Files directory, maybe the user directories. Because Windows and the programs it runs always store the full path to a particular destination that you can't just move stuff around. And if you can't move stuff around then what's...
FireWire 800 is about as fast as eSata. I can get transfer rates of about 50MB/sec for a single drive. A stripped RAID array should do even better... possibly 80-90MB/sec. I don't know. I'll try sometime.
I suggest downloading VirtualPC (or some other VM) and install the game into a VM enviroment. Because the VM is running on top of a software emulation layer, this will at least let you know if the problem is software or hardware.
From what it looks like, definetly software. And this problem...
Go to http://www.sysinternals.com/FileAndDiskUtilities.html and download NTFSDOS. This is used to access NTFS partitions from DOS. So formatting with NTFS shouldn't be a problem.
I honestly can not beleive people take these EULA's so seriously. I swear people think it's like a binding contract. And violating will result in severe punishments. After you purchase the software, it's up to you to agree with the EULA or not. They can't make you agree to it. It's your software...
I'm looking for a motherboard that supports two dual core CPU's for a total of four cores. What do you people recommend? Do any AMD compatible boards exist with this kind of configuration? Right now I'm looking at a TYAN S2895UA2NRF with two AMD Opterons. The board looks solid. But I stopped...
I don't see much use of a program like Ghost for MacOS X. SuperDuper works great. You can even boot off the duplicate drive. Get an external drive and backup everything to that regularly.
I know the next version of MacOS X has something called time machine. I don't know much about it, it's...
I was going to go to bed but wasn't tired. So I took a BUNCH of bendyrl to fall aspeep (i'm wide awake, it's late, I need sleep NOW). Anyhow I wanted to do was copy all my music from the PC to a Mac over a wireless connection. It was going to take four hours i wanted it done overnight...
But...
Here are some examples of icons and there usefullness.
Icons for Konfabulator Widgets as seen on a Mac.
How widget icons appear under Windows...
Icons from the application folder on a Mac.
I'm not going to bother showing what the Windows Program Files folder looks like. Just a bunch...
Yes... where as Windows simply tries to keep all that "underlying" stuff totally invisible... like opening up the main hard drive and your greated with a big message telling you not to be browsing the drive... you get the same message with the Program Files and Windows directory too.
Apple...
Hmm... tell me... with all the effort going into designing these desktops, do they actually help you use the computer productively? Or are they just for show...
This is the most retarded thing I've heard. Obviously this is something you can not prove. God I don't think a Mac user would call PC users idiots. God this is so f__king stupid I'm just going to let it go..
I'm not worried about security or bugs. They'll always be there. And many bugs I find are never fixed or addressed. But Vista will still be Windows, which concerns me the most because Windows does some things very poorly. Such as application and file management. Every version they say they have...
Why are you installing SATA drivers? They shouldn't be needed. If they are needed then boot from an ATA drive.
I'm not sure your reason how this would fix the problem. Unless one of the modules isn't correctly installed it should make no difference. And fidging with the voltage will get you...
lol... let's see..
Get rid of any logitech software. ASAP.
Get rid or disable StrokeIt.
Also get rid of ZoneAlarm because it's a worthless pile of crap...
Windows likes to break. Especially when you install things. It's just the way Windows is.
USB booting is pretty common place now, but I've not heard much about booting from FireWire devices. The only systems which do this I know of are Macs (Which have supported since before the turn of the century). Are there any PC motherboards that support this? I would really not rely on USB all...
