I'm hesitating between two laptop deals which are essentially the same except for the CPU. One is a Turion ML-32 (1.6 Ghz) and the other is a Pentium M 735A (1.7 Ghz). From what I've read the Pentium M is faster but it won't last me very long since its not 64 bit and is not as "Vista...

Yea ive got exams coming up so I wont really be able 2 go into gaming until after june. By then I assume both Nvidia and STI will hav new(er) models and the 7800GT 512 MB will cost less than $200

I would really like to be able 2 play DOOM 3, Quake 4, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Call of Duty 2 @ 60+ FPS (almost) full video. HL2 is pretty decent on this system, CSS is perfect

I had a little over 81 FPS on the Counterstrike: source stress test (full video 1280x1024 res) and a little over 41 FPS on "the lost coast" stress test (again full video 1280x1024 res)

I have a P4 550 That is WAY TOO HOT!

Well this new 9500 is really impressive ive gone down 10-15C but overall this CPU is insanely hot. What temperature would you guys say is too much for a P4 550 (3.4Ghz)?

How do you install Gentoo?

I made a quick transition from my Ubuntu live CD to Gentoo. However it seems more much more complicated to install. Something about "packages". Does any know a good step by step way? Are there any good websites that might say? Or is it just too complicated for an amateur Linux user such as myself?

Can I use my IPOD as a HD? Can I use it for linux?

What i want to know is if one can use the IPOD as if it were really a HD. I know it has the "HD function" but is it exactly like an external HD? Can I run Linux (live) on something like that? Or off a pen drive (as opposed to a CD)? Thanks,
