I've no interest in the belt but I am putting a couple rigs on the current EDGEs project for the benefit of the TeAm while the POGS project is out of work units.
Apparently the project admins are having problems loading the next batch of data sets for galaxies to be modeled, so the project has run out of work. I have only a couple machines with work still in the queues to be completed (that won't expire before the deadline), so I've been switching them...
BTW, one of my rigs suddenly no longer wants to retrieve new tasks on the POGS project. I saw on the website that they were having some issues with galaxies data, but it looked like that had been resolved - still nothing. Tried detaching and re-attaching to no avail, so I connected it to...
Sorry LANMAN - I think the hot tub and beer are all handled in a virtual world now.
Admittedly, it's not near as satisfying to be slapped with a virtual trout as before either. :/
Sorry perusbroder -- I don't actually check the stats that much anymore, mostly because there's no one to compete with in my project. But I do appreciate the efforts of the folks doing stats for the other members of the team and like to thank them for those efforts. :)
That said, "Thanks for...
I joined the POGS project on 26 Aug 2014, basically right after the then-latest issues with the A@H server(s) having problems for the umpteenth time. :/
The advantage of running a VM is that you can choose how much proc/ram/disk to allocate to the VM, so just allocate say 2 procs, some ram and disk and see how that goes; if all goes well, you can allocate more as you review the host server's performance logs. Getting some BOINC time even if...
I know I'm not alone, just seemed weird to be so far out in front.. have to think of it as being the lead goose, I guess. :)
As for E@H, that's why dropped it a while back - it used to be my primary project. :/
Fellow old-timer reporting in! :) Been on vacation since mid-December. For the most part, enjoying being a dad now that the adoption of our THREE kids has been finalized by the Courts! :D
Thanks for the stats GLeeM! :)
It looks like most of my TeAm mates have left it to me to represent the SkyNet project for us. I'll continue to do so as long as I can!
Thanks for the stats GLeeM! :)
All of my crunchers are still on the Pogs project. Finally upgraded the Athlon 2 x64 5000+ to a Phenom II x4 945 -- what a difference that made! :)
Thanks for the stats GLeeM! :)
@ Bradtech519 -- After a hand injury some weeks back (got attacked by a Cisco phone and got a screwdriver bit shoved into my hand!) I then came down with a severe cold too, so I know what it's like to isolate oneself off from the rest of the house. :(
Not everyone. I rather enjoy JEDIYoda's posts, especially considering the volume of Palestinian & Hamas propaganda so many others in this forums propagate.
If I were a rancher with land bordering Mexico, I'd welcome these guys to camp out on my land. There have already been reports and incidents with CBP of armed confrontations as well as surveillance of drug runners, human traffickers, and even Mexican paramilitary crossing into our country...
For the record, I am not Jewish in any way. I am a common Gentile. However, that being said, I still have a great love for both the Jewish people and the state of Israel, and I consider it a compliment that someone would label me Jewish instead of as the intended insult! :)
While I do not...
@ Assim - thank you, and yes, John Connor will probably be warning us soon! :D
It would appear to me that POGS doesn't make use of the GPUs in my rigs, so now I'm looking for another project I can add that would run concurrently and use the GPU resources while the CPUs are doing the POGS tasks.
