Hi Puffnstuff, Thanks for the reply. Regrettably, I do not have access to a multimeter. I have been using an old (5+ years) 650W PSU to run a 2500k, 2 sticks of memory, 1 HD and a 780GTX for a year or so. Do you think it could be failing now?

Whoops false alarm. I must have pulled the power connector for my hdds loose from the PSU while I was adjusting them. I plugged it back in and everything seems to be in order for now and I'm cloning the drive as I type this. Thanks TheELF for your help!

Hi guys, thanks for the replies. I read a comparison article on hardocp and it seems to corroborate the better overclocking capabilities of the asus. That being said, I'm not really planning on overclocking so I went with the evga because of the better warranty (reportedly :)).

I haven't found a review for that exact model listed by the OP, but all other coolmax PSUs have received rather unflattering reviews from hardware secrets. I would select a more reliable unit.
