    Rift is certainly the more "traditional" MMO of the two, and probably more accessible coming in blind. I don't hate Guild Wars 2 (and, yes, you'd have to buy it), but for me at least it's a bit more of a grind than I'd like--albeit not TERA grind bad, mind, just annoyingly so.

    Heh...yes, check for tape or some such obstruction on the bottom of your existing mouse at the laser emitter hole (pretty much dead center), just to be safe. But it looks like it's shot--especially if it did the same thing on a second PC.

    So I was part of a multi-raid PUG on Oondasta last night...good lord, I haven't seen that kind of carnage since a failed run at Lord Kazzak way back in TBC. We managed to down it, barely, but seeing it literally one-shot entire raids--repeatedly--was hilariously messed up.

    If memory serves, it's either a selectable item in your inventory like weapons (like in BF3) or it's considered an accessory like the nano-regen pack, which has its own use key (F). Only light assault suits have ammo packs to begin with, though.

    If your viewing distance is only going to be around 4' or so, I'd just go for the 27" monitor. A TV at that distance probably would be serviceable if you're aiming for 1080p, but it likely wouldn't look all that great until you got further away from it.

    I'd probably aim for something a hair over $100, like the Panasonic DMP-BDT210, but that's me. That said, wifi-capable BD players seem to be rather scarce below the $100 mark to begin with (Dynex, Magnavox, Toshiba...maybe you can catch a sale if you watch).
