I used XP64 for a while but it was a nightmare because of the lack of support. If you want to run Far Cry in 64bit mode with the slightly unstable ATI 64bit drivers then go for it it's interresting, but only as a secondary partition because you will get extremely irritated when half your...
well if 4GB slows games down because it has to run at 333 or something then 2GB would be a better gaming machine no?
Besides when WoW and BF2 only use about 1200 at max settings why would you want more anyway.
I'd never put something in my gaming rig which was surpluss and would slow it down
Hey people I know I'm new here but would really appreciate some advice on this
currently it has
Pentium 4M 2.4 (this is a bit old and is my prime suspect)
Asus P4GPLX
Tagan 380W PSU
X700 Pro
1GB Corsair value RAM
No Floppy
10GB IDE hdd
DVD Rom
basically I can get it to start. The...
Actually yeah I didn't think of that :P our metal industry is non existant now. The point about the ship was that ship engines don't have to adhere to strict guidelines with emissions as far as I know (certainly seem to let off enough black smoke) and give off loads of stuff a car engine isn't...
Save the case, psu, optical drives, hdd, floppy
Get a mobo for $60 (I think in GBP so sorry if my prices are off, just think cheap)
Get him a cheap low end sempron
Get an X700 / 600
Corsair Value RAM 1GB
shouldn't cost more than $300 if my american price sense is right
far better than...
Well seeing as most fanless HSs come with a warning 'only for web browsing / light utility work' 39 C is pretty awesome. Now just bolt 2 120 fans on that baby, I recon you could probably out cool most other HSF combos out there.
I did read this warning on Viperlair for the Ninja: 'While...
woah so you guys recon natural is the way to go? I always figured they were just for office workers so they were less likely to get repetetive strain injury or something and sue their employer. I need a new keyboard anyway (just built a new PC, I only realised when I read this thread I forgot...
Asus A8N32-SLI see what you think
http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=2589 heres the Anantech review
I recon it's a bit overfeatured and too expensive, plus who really needs dual SLI 16, but if you really want the ultimate motherboard here it is (although the DFI Lanparty would be...
won't hurt to heat up the fresh thermal compound on the cpu I guess.
I had a friend who just found out his X1800XT was slower than it should have been and wouldn't overclock, so if you have payed alot for your hardware you should definitely make sure it's all working perfectly
I haven't read the whole thread, but one valid point is that underwear would have to be alot more supportive :P
Read 'The Forever War', tons of stuff about G during acceleration over long periods of time (and top five sci fi ever probably).
I live in the UK, and Range Rovers are manufactured here. They use loads of fuel, but say a small Volvo would use alot less. Given that the Volvo has to be shipped from Sweden on a boat with extremely crude engines which still emit CO and the ship also polutes the sea, which option do you recon...
What are the rail outputs? It's all very well having a high wattage, but loads of 500-600W PSUs will supply less power than a 400W to the essential components. That is part of the reason why a 500W Antec, Zalman etc costs twice that of a crappy 500W + case.
I managed to run a
3200 64 @2.2...
:P I just got a really cheap 3.2 off Ebay, that said there was a MASSIVE bidding war in the last minute between 4 people, guess I just wanted it the most.
I just bought a Northwood 3.2, and would really like to get it up to 3.6, but my PSU is only 380W. It is a Tagan, and the 12V rail has 22A. Mmy GPU is only an X700 128 Pro (I got it for $50 and its GDDR3 before I get flamed for having a rubbish card).
I know overclocking a Prescott on...
