Synology and Drobo both have good reviews on amazon, but I suggest you first consider Synology network storage solution.
as for load balancing, there is something that may work out great for you guys it is called dispatch by the connectify team...
Heres my advice.
(Im the lead IT Specialist for a large MassMutual financial firm.)
Keep it simple at first, and dont get too expensive at the beginning unless you are certain you can justify it.
1. DIY desktop PCs, or consider PCs from dell that come with respectable warranties, and pro...
I'll be very interested to see if they make Guardian Edge removeable storage encryption (GERS) any better. Right now Mass Mutual home office is requiring us all to use it, except for people whom dont use USB drives/etc.
there are various significant problems with backing up a lot of files, or...
I backed up a server I'm running using MS windows server 2003 windows backup. Backed up the whole HDD (1 partition exists only - c drive )
my question is
if the HDD fails, I should be able to restore all c drive data from this backup file onto a new/similar HDD,
and be done with restoration...
Battlefield 2: crushed to death by a jet ski

I think brain damage has already occurred.
Unplug that bastard asap.
you remind me of the last guy that posted here.
he was operating his mic with no door.
watery feeling?
or like something in your eye, right?
so even after wearing them for 2 days, you still get this feeling?
if so, i'd hit up your local eye doc.
peace!
"Must have been an error on the disc itself. "
if it were, then the install would abort with checksum errors.
something else is going on here, good luck to you :-)
"I feel somewhat overwhelmed with information"
you will at first, but give it time.
i don't touch civ4 at all right now, it eats up time too fast and easily for me, so i don't even bother to make time for it.
ok, sorry for no pics i guess, but 83mb is pretty tiny now a days
i upped 2 pics above
@youtube comment: if youtube preserves 1080p ok, then maybe i will upload the original MKV version (85mb)
version 3 uploaded (a bit more seamless and removed annoying flashy scene at the end)

from VIA's website downloaded v7300a for my 1708s via audio chipset
replaced vdeck with a slightly newer version, same problem with it and winamp.
luckily vdeck does not seem critical and my audio still works without it running. (no winamp problem without vdeck running!)
@jdj yeah, I'll try that (as long as there is a newer version out).
to be honest I've been considering to switch back to my previously used soundblaster xfi PCI card, but have not done it yet :P
i have some new interesting news!
i did a suspend process on winamp.. no help. (using process explorer)
i then also suspended vdeck.exe (part of the VIA onboard audio system)
and guess what? instantly my system returned to normal.
so... I think I'll switch to a PCI sound card and see how...
@jdjbuffalo
just now tested using my mp3 files that are on a seperate internal 250gb SATA drive
same problem. did not notice any differences in how bad the slowness was, or anything else.
OS drive is a 500gb western digital SATA drive.
i figured out vdeck.exe (part of the onboard audio a program related to it) was causing this problem! My audio still works without vdeck.exe running. I might just switch to a PCI sound card again.

here's what i suggest you do.
if you play Crysis (or play it inside sandbox2) and concurrently run prime95 on all cores, and Crysis works (albeit with lower FPS but still playable for me)
and does not crash (after 30-60 mins) then I don't see any reason why you should bother to be concerned...
modify the difficulty cfg files in your crysis warhead folder
compare the easy version to the hard version to get an idea of which parameters you'll want to increase and decrease

"Wouldn't Acronis recovery destroy all the other data on the partition?"
iirc, it does not by default. If it were a full partition image, it would then overwrite everything of course.

"in fact, I'd almost like to create dynamic disks and mount my backup drive as a folder in the root volume and not even see a second hard disk in My Computer..."
true that.

you can still use acronis trueimage to selectively backup only the OS on your C...
"Also, can you please point me to a reliable (and virus free) torrent link for the 7260 build? (preferably 64bit) "
http://www.google.com/search?&...7260%20checksum%20sha1
all you really need is the sha1 hash, and then whatever you download you can use XCSC to confirm the file you downloaded...
if you cant figure out why then stop spending your time on it and purchase a dedicated sound card. unless you have lots of free time to troubleshoot this or google for other people with this problem & same system specs.
not sure but i've seen black screens after sp2 on winxp
fixed 100% by pressing various key combos while screen is black
