    Go Conroe for sure. Can't really answer the rest of your questions, but the Conroe chip does consume a bit more energy than the AMD one, although not much more and the performance/watt you get on the Conroe chip outweighs that point making it irrelevant.

    Yuo should be fine, there are reviewers at newegg who are running SLi'd 7900gt's on your psu. Someone else was running 2 7800gt's as well on that psu and the 7900gt consumes less power, so you should be good to go

    You could try the Gateway FPD2185W...I had bad experiences with the first batch that was released, but those issues probably cleared up by now. It's a decent monitor when it was working for me, has HD, DCDi, and component and is within your price range.

    Totally agree with you on that one. 25fps in this game is totally acceptable, it is very different from all other games out there. FEAR at an fps lower than 35fps is garbage to me, but Oblivion is quite smooth at 25, you'd be surprised how much different this game is in terms of minimum performance.
