    If you get a via or NV chipset Intel systems are no more stable then anything else ;) BUT who would do that :P DFI has had issues in the past delivering for Intel overclockers.. lets hope they deliver in spades for Conroe :P

    btw. I would put woodcrests in at about ~1.5ish to ~1.8 K8 opty. but thats just an edumicated guess. netburst (up to and including dempsey's) are netburst based chips and need more clocks then K8 opty's its about 3.1 to 4.5 (scale it down for stock clock speeds :) )

    Wish it was that simple.. the motherboards just cant handle enough FSB. The PPL and the traces dont hold up in most of them :( There are rumors of 600 FSB out of a few of the boards though :Q

    IPC makes running them at the same speed irrelevent, P4's are not designed to get alot done per cycle on purpose.. thats what the extra frequency is for.. I say compair them by cost... or compair them by cost and highest overclock possible.

    crossfire doesnt require an ATI chipset (thats why crossfire is so popular on Intel systems, they get to use a Intel chipset with their crossfire setup).. SLI requires NV's chipset. btw. there is an exploit out there that lets you run SLI on Intels 975 chipset (not endorced by NV of course)

    I would want more system ram for that solution but that was always a posiblity.. setting up a partition for your games swapfile for instance (keep in mind your sharing that bandwith with the systems ram though)

    they are a couple weeks from retail right now.. the only guy on XS that has one right now is in Japan.. and seems to have good conections. his has the old chipset.. the 975's should clock better, they should have better Vdimm options as well.

    The ceramic coils down by the CPU can make noise.. If they are its a motherbord issue and there is little that can be done about it.. (other then RMAing the board) It is normaly a clicking noise.

    check the PSU sticky.. you should be able to find more amps on the 12V rail for less to be perfectly honest with you..
