Inexpensive ultra portable (NON-netbook)?

Try an IBM X40 or X41 - 12.1" screen, 60GB and under $400, pluss, terrific battery life (and built to last!). If you've got the extra $150, go for the X60/61 as recommended by Spike.

Thinkpad X200 came in today...

I'm going to answer this not from experience from the x200, but from my lowly x40. It should be able dual displays like that no problem - if my 4 year old notebook can, then the brand new one certainly can!

Sufficient PSU for SFF?

I'm running a 250W Seasonic m-ATX PSU with the rig below, and it runs great! No problems, so don't be too obsessed with getting a 1kW PSU.

Try and find a used IBM X40 or X41 - 2.7 lbs, 12" LCD, and the 'normal' workings of a PC, and none of the limitations of the cheaper netbooks. They can be found for under $350 (for the X40) - I love mine and heartily recommend it to anyone looking for a lightweight and durable platform with good...

Small Laptop/ultraportable for (motorcycle) travel...

Brother HL-2070N Laser Printer with print server - $79.99 AR @ Staples

I've had this brother for about 3 months now, it works fantastically! The integrated server functions are really nice, and it is much smaller than my older Brother Laser printer. I got mine new for $135 from OfficeMax, this refurb sounds like a good deal.

Best GPU Cooler on the market?

Those temperature changes seem huge, but if thats what the sensor is saying, then maybe they're right. I've got a VF900 (with AS Ceramique) on my 7900GT which is a much cooler card than your 1900XTX, but for what its worth, im idling at 38 C right now, and even on full load, it only goes up...

So just apply my Zalman cooler, game until\if it has trouble, and if it does, just reapply the stock cooler? Did you sucessfully RMA your card after doing that? Brian

MSI S271 Review

I'm glad to see decent battery life from the S27* series now! The old Turion x1core notebook only got like 2 hours max, but I assume that the "measly" 4 hours in the benchmark can be pushed to up to 5 hours on light usage, yet the power would be there when you need it (plugged in Video encoding...

What are your CPU upgrade plans?

Right now I'm running a SocketA XP3000+ , and I am upgrading real soon to an Opteron 165 or 1165, or possibly an X2 4200+, depending on my thoughts and mATX mobo avaiability in a month and a half (beofre I'm off to University of Rochester). But I'm definately staying with AMD. Brian

Which thermal grease?

I've had my little 2.5g tube of AS Ceramique for over two years now, and it's still going strong after 10+ applications! When that finally runs out (soon), I'll start looking for something new...or maybe not. +1 for flawless performance from Ceramique! Brian
