This would be something I might be interested in...........Compact, no hassle.........good price.................but how does it perform? I have an AMD X2 4200+ I'm guessing that this would work.
I don't really want to do Raid 0+ 1 That is stripe mirroring correct? I want to keep all my drive space and back up on my external with ghost. Right now I am using the Silicon Image Raid on my Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe Motherboard. I've got the stripe size at 128kb with just windows installed...
Hi all,
I have 4 250gb drives running RAID10. I want to get my space back and possibly get a performance increase. I also have a 20GB IDE drive. What I want to do is to copy my Operating system from my C:/ drive (13.5gb file size) onto the 20GB IDE drive. Then boot up with the IDE drive...

Hey guys, right now I have 4 western digital 7200rpm drives hooked up raid10 and split into 3 logical drives. When I open my Silicon Image Software raid program it says that all the drives are "healthy" but the overall drive is "degraded". I have 1.05 mb on each drive that I have not alloted...
I have the ASUS A8N-SLI Premium motherboard with built in raid controller. I just had raid5 setup on my 4 hard drives, I ran like total crap. What is my best option for (4) 250 GIG SATA drives? I'm thinking about going with RAID10? Any thoughts? Or should I just run them JBOD and run the...
When windows starts up it says it doesn't understand a file called sam.jar
any ideas...............my raid5 sata config seems to be running slower then my old single drive IDE.............they are both 7200rpm
Alright guys here's my issue. I currently have 4 250GB hard drives that I have running raid 5 through motherboard.......look below to see what motherboard I have. I currently have windows installed on a 20GB IDE, but I set the Raid configuration to boot up first on the computer. Windows...
I have the stock fan and cooler that came with the CPU.............I don't know?? I guess I could just get a new fan....according to PC Probe II my fan is running at 3308 RPM.
Does anyone know if a TV tuner card will work in my computer. My Cable provider requires a Cable Box to "descramble" the channels. I'm paying for my cable, but will my computer decode it??
Hey everyone........a friend of mine has a motherboard that only has two IDE inputs. On the one he has his two DVD Burners hooked up and on the other one he has 2 hard drives. How can he add more hard drives to the system (internal)? Thanks.
The only thing I saw was that both cores seem to be running "insyc" with one another.......when I go into the task manager during video encoding for example.....both graph lines rise and fall together.......Is that the way it's supposed to run........I thought It was suppossed to dedicate one...
Hey everyone,
Just got my new computer up and running.....see specs below. I was just wondering if there were any patches for XP for running a dual core or anything like that or any other software I should be running thanks.......
So you think it would be best to ditch the 20GB drive(maybe just use it as storage) and run raid 0 so Then I'd have (1) 500GB drive running raid 0, and then just install windows and my programs, games, and utilities on the Raid 0 drive?
Yeah, I guess I could..............do I need a seperate raid controller card, or I've heard there is one built into my motherboard? But what do you think about the rest of my questions, about the OS and how do I set it up for raid 0. Especially with an IDE drive running the OS
Alright........this is what I've got going. I have a 20GB IDE drive running the operating system. Now I've got (2) SATA 250GB hard drives I'm going to hook up. I've got the ASUS motherboard with built in Raid control........so how do I go about doing this? I tried to set them up last night...

Not endorsing any of these companies.......just FYI
I've got the Panasonic FZ-20........It's 5mp. 20x optical zoom........It takes kick ass pictures.......I LOVE IT........and it's right in your price range. Or check out the FZ-30. The FZ-30 is about $589 but sports 8MP and a better macro setting.
Just let him know.....brains mean nothing if you don't show up for class....you still fail and are asked to not come back.........don't ask how I know that.... but that doesn't make you dumb....just lacking some common sense........lol
Yeah, that is really high end............I mean you're maxing out the X2 Processor model series. The only next step would be the FX series........but there isn't no damn way I'm paying $1000 for a processor. That's more then what I just bought and mine zooms along.
Then I might as well run RAID 1 then, because raid one mirrors your drive onto another for faster operation. So if one dies then you still have everything on the other. So what's the difference?
I have 2 LG DVD Burners. I live in Japan so I bought one so I could set it up for region 1 DVDs and I so I could set up for region 2. I have them both running on an IDE cable. The problem is when I change the region on 1 of them, the regions on both change. Does anyone know how to remedy this???
I have onle large fan in the back of the case pushing air out and one large one in the front pulling air in I think they are running about 2000rpm. Built in graphics card fan. And off course the stock CPU Cooler that came with it. My monitoring program tells me it's steady around 34C. What...
I'm looking to do video encoding, dvd burning(only mine of course), and some video editing from my movie camera, some gaming......maybe like Command and Conquer Generals, but I'm not a "gamer", I just like to play sometimes........
Alright.....this is what I have. I have a 20GB hard drive running IDE with my operating system on it. I have (2) 250 GB hard drives (SATA) that I haven't hooked up get because I'm trying to determine what the best setup is before I put anything on them. RAID 0? Buy one more hard drive and do...
