Thats a higher temp then what I am comfortable with, especially with a 90nm processor. My 130nm FX-55 doesn't even hit that temp on full load when overclocked...Just my two cents mate.
P.S. I know its a dual core processor by the way...
I had a quick question, I have been running my rigs at their overclock for quite sometime but I just wanted to double check and see if its ok to run DDR400 RAM at lets say DDR424...? If the FSB is at 212, thats what it would run at, is this safe? I hope it is, or both my rigs have been unhealthy...
My vote would be a X1900XT, or XTX if you want the bragging rights. My X1900XTX rig keeps up with my SLI 7800GTX rig in a lot of thing except benchmark scores. For the price a X1900XT is great bang for the buck. Just my two cents mate.
P.S. Oblivion runs nicely after some tweaks on my...
Maybe I need to Crossfire my second rig, since I already have 1 X1900XTX. Even though Crossfiring would clock my XTX to XT speeds, but oh well.
Soon, I will have a SLI Rig and a Crossfire rig, I can test myself mate. lol
Ati Tray Tools supports the X1900XTX but you have to do a tweak inside the configuration file. Everything works with the X1900, except overclocking. There next revision will probably support ocing the X1900 series.
What do you guys think of these settings.....
1600x1200
Textures are on Large
All the distances are maxed out except for grass distance.
I put grass distance all the way down (This causes it not to show the grass)
All the shadows are on except for grass shadow, since there is no grass, no...
Zanta did you have HQ AF on at all?
P.S. If I turn the grass distance all the way down, which eliminates the grass...My framerate is really smooth outside...Now I am wondering should I play with some other settings or keep everything maxed out and just turn the grass off?
I have the settings at 1600x1200 and all the distances are maxed out and so is the distant view...Everything is on high basically except AA because im using HDR. Also my HQ AF is only set at 4x, but everything in my Tray Tools is set to High Quality. How do you turn off or on soft shadows...
I am using the Ati Tray Tools and that by default shows your fps on the top right corner....I have not installed it on my SLI Rig, and I really think a X1900XTX should be able to stay above 20 fps outdoors at max settings. I assumed it could atleast...
P.S. I would appreciate if you check...
The weird thing is, even if I lower the shadows or the resolution, I really don't get that much of a FPS gain....I can put the resolution at like 1280x1024 and max everything and it will run around the same FPS at 1600x1200 with everything maxed...It has great FPS when im indoors in like a...
So anyone on these forums have a X1900XTX who can tell me what settings are optimal for them? I just don't think the card can run everything maxed...Unfortunately.
I am playing on my second rig with the X1900XTX, my specs are in my signature. I have all the settings MAXED out in Oblivion and running it at 1600x1200 with HDR on, so no AA and HQ AF at 8x.
The game runs smooth...above 40fps at all times when indoor or near a town...But when I am outdoors...
I like to keep my Clawhammer FX-55 (130nm) in my second rig below 50C on full load. My FX-57, I dont really care, let it burn up...
P.S. I was joking about letting the FX-57 burn up...lol
Your card does support monitoring your temps and fan speeds. Download Rivatuner and you can just use that...It allows you to monitor your videocards Core temp and ambient temps...and even adjust your fan speeds.
Hope that helps mate. But yeah, your card supports what you are asking.
Rivatuner doesn't give me the option to set my fan speeds for 2D and 3D mode....It only allows me to set my fan at a certain speed, but keeps it there at all times....This is with a X1900, so I don't know if im not looking hard enough or it doesn't support the X1900 series. If it does allow me...
Normally if the game or application needs a updated DirectX 9.0c version, it will prompt you and make you install it before installing the game or application.
The Windows media player, I cant help you with...Sorry mate.
But some places say that the stock 3D voltage is like 1.42 where Rivatuner shows mine at 1.45....Maybe it just rounds it up? Can anyone check their Rivatuner?
I appreciate the help mate.
Well I don't use Ati Tool because it causes my system to crash, since I am using XP 64bit....Now I know my core full load temp is ok...but how about the Voltage regulator temp, is that ok?Is my ambient temp ok? Are my voltages what they should be for stock voltages?
I have a X1900XTX and I have my fan running at 50% at all times with Rivatuner and when playing Counter Strike Source at max settings I see my core temp hitting like 69C and my Voltage regulator temp hitting 60C, and my ambient temp is 46C. Are these safe temps or are they too high for this...
I also do the same thing, I attach each monitor to each card. I don't have my reasons for doing this, but I have had absolutely no issues with running dual monitors like this...
But what Cheesetogo said does make sense...
Well, I can't really help you out with the problem, but I don't use the standby option with either one of my rigs. It is buggy at times, so I just avoid the standby option. I would just set it, so that your monitor turns off after like an hour of not being used (monitor uses most of the power)...
Maybe there is a bad sector somewhere on that hard drive and only writes data onto that sector when you have two partitions on that disk. I bet if you only had one partition, but filled up your hard drive, then you will still run into problems. This just seems like the logical defect to me, but...
