Finally finished most of the build last night. This 3950x had no bent pins. Seems pretty good. Going to test temps later!
Seems like a beast of a cpu. Needed to manually set ram speed. It didn’t like the default of 2100mhz on 3600mhz memory lol.
Agreed. There was only 1 bent corner and that was in the lower part of the box. Hopefully better luck with the next one. Hopefully Amazon comes through as they were the only other one I found in stock
Thought about that, I did that 2 builds ago but didn’t want to risk it. Already returned and waiting on Amazon. I don’t want to take the chance of issues and having to repair later.
Best Buy has no objections to the return.
So excited to start my build today. H150i pro and 750D Airflow case finally arrived today. Start the build by putting SSD’s in, then RAM, all good. Start to unpack the beast 3950x. Plastic inside is cracked and CPU has bent pins. Best Buy doesn’t have any in stock or online. Hopefully Amazon...
Thankfully I was able to score mine on New Years Eve at Best Buy online. Even got 10% off for my birthday. Will be a nice upgrade. Normally I have been an “Intel Guy” but these new processors made me choose AMD.
Don't think this was a "good shoot." No weapon mentioned...no violence mentioned. Could just be the story not mentioning...but from those details, sounds like excessive force to me. If there was any weapon...then fine...shooting should be a last resort. Doesn't sound racially motivated to me...
Verizon does offer a 500-minute plan. My wife and I were on it for a while. It is about $10/month cheaper than the 700 minute plan. You have to call into customer service to get it.
Another option is to do the Cisco SSL VPN. If you can get a cheap 1712 or something like that, it works great. Does require a little more knowledge of them.
Split tunneling is nice. Avoids alot of un-needed bandwidth utilization, as you don't have the remote gateway...so you can send traffic out your internet connection.
This would be a good setup for a small/medium sized business.
This wouldn't be a bad idea if you have the bandwidth up/down at home. The problem is when I use my VPN to home (Cisco SSL VPN) I get between 30-40ms response times to the inside of my network.
So if you join a server with 120ms latency you can automatically add another 40ms. Wouldn't be...
Well if you have a server/domain setup and it runs your DNS...you could just log that. You can also try sniffing the connection going to the internet and trap all of DNS lookups that go out.
You can also check the cookies/browser history (probably already thought of that).
The...
I had this very same issue. Even when I got an upgraded router I would still lock it up due to number of connections.
Since I am in networking for work I invested in a Cisco 1812 ISR. Great router. I have up to 2800 dynamic nat translations up at a time. I have them set for a timeout of 1...
You can use Wireshark.
www.wireshark.org
This is a sniffing program that will tell you every attempt that is hitting your computers NIC, it will also show if you computer responds. You can also do a netstat to see what ports are listening on your computer and if they are currently connected.
The problem should be that you need to reset your Cable or DSL modem. That will clear the mac-address table otherwise you will have to wait for the mac-address table to update...which depending on the modem settings could be a while.
When you plug in everything you get your IP addresses...
I agree with Drebo. Too many NAT translations on the router. The problem is that for the webpages to load they are stuck waiting for the router to process them and cause delay and usually re-transmissions of the packets.
I don't see why. I mean if you were upgrading to DOCSIS 3.0 then I could see...but neither of the other 2 support that either.
I would ask they why I needed to upgrade...I think they just want to make some extra $$$.
Well this happened with some of the routers I had. Mostly there is not enough CPU power to keep up with everything and the router freezes. You can try and turn down the number of global connections you can have. Set it at like 100 and go up from there. Also if it is keeping the NAT...
Actually the easier way of doing this is to port forward on the router. So instead of just connecting to your public address you would specify and address.
Here PC-A is 192.168.1.2 and PC-B is 192.168.1.3. RDP uses port 3389 (I believe). Go to your router and specify a outside port like...
Well if the employee in the next office is doing it I am guessing he is either cloning macs or they are just blowing smoke. If they had it locked down on the switch by mac-address then the other computer wouldn't work. They also might get an SNMP message stating their is an un-authorized...
Sounds like it might be dropping connection in the authentication phase. Also, you might try to upgrade the firmware on the router (never hurts) and for the card inside the laptop. When I got my I9300 I had that problem. I don't know why it would just pop up at random.
As far as...
Agreed. TVersity was harder to work with and PS3 Media Server is better at trans-coding anything the PS3 can't play. I stream full 1080p movies from my file-server (wired everything) and it is great. Takes a bit of CPU and a 600mb buffer and I get no lag and no skips. Works great...
I agree...that USB adapter should not be getting that crappy of a signal. RMA it...what is the loss except for time. I used 2 different ones when I was hooking up a family members wireless because signal strength varied greatly at the same place in the house.
I totally agree. There is not 1 time that I had to make extra holes. As far as cost...I would rather run cable than take a chance with wireless. But that is just me.
Well what you can do it a port forward for you remote desktop. If you have XP Pro or Vista Primium or Ultimate. The data is encrypted. You just setup a port forward...lets say port 15000. So on the outside you would say send any incoming transmissions on port 15000 to my computers IP address...
For 25K I would say get a new 09 Mazdaspeed 3. They are great. Had one until I sold it cause we had a baby. Sweet ride, but they tone down 1 and 2 gear. :(
This is the wrong forum, but I am sure this will get moved. When moving to a new setup I usually do a fresh install of windows and then use the HDDs in the computer or enclosure and copy the data.
I usually partition my drives so that my OS is on one partition and I use the other as the...
