Now that ATI/AMD Lost the war....

Well first off, you have to realize the Geforce 8800GTS has a 320-bit interface compared to the 384-bit of the GTX. Furthermore, it's VRAM is cut down (especially 320MB of the GTS vs. the 768MB GTX). Volume is much higher at this segment, as well (sub $300). According to their cc last week...

To my knowledge, Vista works fine, and Supreme Commander and Company of Heroes are scheduled to receive DX10 patches as early as March. Still, for $150, it seems like a good deal. The people with this kind of budget probably wouldn't be looking at Vista or DX10, anyways. Nelsieus

When are we going to see non-TN panels at 22"?

The LG L226WT that just released is a TN, but supposedly a true 8-bit. We're awaiting reviews for it; it just released (for $399). And if the reviews are good, this will be my soon-to-be new monitor. :) Nelsieus

Worst case scenario - nVidia offially releases the Dec.14 100.30 that was already leaked about a week ago. Stability and performance seemed to be sound with them, atleast from what I read from the few who were quick to grab them. Otherwise, strategically / marketing, they'll probably release...

As Uttar explained, there is still more performance left in G80 that will become prevalent with driver releases / optimizations. So, imo, a supposed +5% - +10% R600 lead could turn into a 0% or even -0% after such driver optimizations release by the time R600 is ready to launch in late March...
