7900gt overclocks

I believe mine were 665/1836 completely stable, 1.4/2.12 or something. Raising the mem voltage didn't result in a higher stable clock rate so I keep it at 2.12. I have two eVGA 7900GT SCs in SLI w/ an AN8 32X and VF-900s. They run at about 50C idle and 75-80C max load.

Well, I got a multimeter and did the mem mod RIGHT this time. Top card reads at 2.23, bottom fluctuates between 2.24-2.25. GPUs are both at 1.3V. I have ran RTHDRIBL an Oblviion for an hour straight a piece at 618/2020 (!!) w/ no artifacting or crashing. Cards don't get above 72/65C...

Overclocking my 7900GT

OK, so you're saying that one should shade in the darker spot (that has the small numbers) BETWEEN the two silver points on the edges of the resistor. Another do0d in another post is saying to shade a U AROUND the bottom edges of the resistor to achieve 2.2V for the memory. What gives??

This is the post I was referring to when I referred to the "U" shading method. I am still not clear.. Should I be shading the PCB or the flat edges of the resistor? Either my memory sux and won't overclock to 1900+ or I am not doing this right.

I made a mistake, I had accidentally combined the traces from the 1.3 pin and the 1.4 pin, so I was actually getting 1.5V instead of the 1.4 that I reported. Still, though, the card was getting substantially hotter at this voltage. I do use the VF700 in silent mode with AS5 and OCZ copper...

It's actually not too bad, but I prefer my computer to be a little more quiet. Temps drop by about 5-7C in load if you keep it in normal mode, though.

I agree with Sharigan, I'm not going to attempt 1.5V. I'd also like to say that after messing with the card for a couple days, I am only (lol) able to get the GPU clock up to 658 and mem clock up to 1860 w/ a VF700 in silent mode and copper OCZ ramsinks. The temps get around 67C full load...
