There are deals around - ClubIT has the MSI 8800GT 512 for 188.49AR with 6.98 shipping (product no. 9654059)
OR this deal on Galaxy 8800GT 512 for $165.99AR with $12 shipping

Yep - REBATES though...
Thanks Viper, I couldn't find any info on this. Kills it for me, though I had it in a cart including the $30 discount and free shipping, with OM picking up the $8 CA recycling fee (shown as an $8 further reduction in the selling price).
Oh the heck with a new rig, I'll just hook up one of these PSU's to all the free ship fans from Newegg and make a hovercraft with a long extension cord.
Goleta store hasn't even had any decent loss leaders for a couple years, but I was passing by and went in out of curiosity - much the same as previous posters: discounts of 10-20% but on inflated prices, still not even close to competitive with online deals. Still, there were many customers...
Received my Cavalry rebate on this unit no problem. This setup works well to boost storage on the Scientific Atlanta 8300HD DVR supplied by many cable companies. Huge thread covering this application at avsforum link
Sorry fallen - yes I see your note in the OCZ thread now.
Seems like I saw reservations about the Rev. 1 OCZ memory on a thread - something about problems with some mobos due to higher voltage requirement (2.1V vs. 1.9V for the Corsair) but the OCZ does have lower timings.
I'm just happy...
Also, you have until September 16, 2010 to redeem your voucher. Even if you don't have any original receipts on hand now, surely you are going to buy something in the way of software or hardware in the next four years - just use those receipts to redeem your voucher.
Seems fine - have this cable running next to the power cable from DVD down through bookcase and no indication of interference. Connects (new) HDMI DVD player to (older) LCD TV with DMI.
Note: some older LCD TV's DVI ports are not HDCP enabled and thus cannot accept signals from newer HDMI...
Fry's B&M SOCAL now has Sempron 64 2800+ 90nm SOI BOX (retail box w/heatsink) and ECS K8M800-M2 mATX mobo for $59.95 Wednesday and Thursday June 21-22 only. Cheap base for PC Mag modding contest.
I just noticed Table A. page 16 of the ECS mobo manual shows that with two "double rank" DIMMs the maximum DRAM speed drops from DDR400 to DDR333. Is this related? What's "double rank"? (I'm a noob) Would I be better with one 1gb stick than the two 512 sticks I have now ready to build? Did...
It's alive again at Fry's B&M SOCAL thru Tuesday 6/6, A64 3000 retail box and ECS nForce3 mobo for $99.98
They also have the Sempron 3100+, ECS nForce3 mobo, and Windows XP OEM bundle for $139.99
I've received two "full" (not discounted for quick payment to paypal) from onrebate in the last month or so - took about 8 weeks but no problems.
Looks to me they charge different amounts to different people for the fast pay option...some say 5.50, some 4.50 - can't say for sure, but my...
Yeah, what's up with ocregister.com? Used to be able to check out the Fry's ads anytime - yesterday stopped allowing. Fry's can't be too happy with that.
latimes.com has some Fry's ads, but the OC ads were much more complete (for the same set of SOCAL stores), probably because less...
Ordered yesterday, received today in SOCAL (!) Mfg. date Mar 2006, so not old stock. There will for sure continue to be some deals on these 4:3 19 inchers as the market moves to widescreen, but I don't see how you can beat $130 OTD AR. OnRebate has worked for me before.
Thanks for another heads up on TD - from what I read on the various forums, it appears systemic; although this one sure looks like Abit's issue, TD is supposed to have a rebate guarantee program that should cover it. I can report one positive experience with TD rebates however - I bought their...
This deal is available thru tomorrow at SoCal Fry's also. By phone today I was told the CPU is an ADA3000BXBOX, E6 stepping, 90nm SOI.
They also have the Sempron 2800+ combo with the ECS nForce3-A for 69.99, thru tomorrow only, but I couldn't get the OPN to figure out if it's 64bit capable or not.
Thanks also ZAP - have seen your fingerprints all over this thread too - your response came in while I was typing - supports my conclusion, but just realized that even though I have a Fry's B&M in striking distance, the $69 deal ended today. We'll see what the weekend ad brings. With all the...
Hey thanks furballi - I see A64 3200 box cpu for $30 more but it's not a mobo combo, just box cpu - maybe I'm missing something. But I feel myself heading down that ol' slippery slope: looking for the most bang for the buck I start adding on for "just $XX more" - pretty soon that inexpensive...
Just saw it now listed at Outpost for 79.99
Also they show A64 3000+ (ADA3000BXBOX) with same ECS nf3 mobo for 129.99. Figuring say $20 for a CPU cooler for the Sempron combo, do you guys think it's worth $30 more for the A64 box cpu (512 L2)?
I found the Connect (Samsung) 80GB quite useful as a RAID backup to the 100GB Seagate in the $199 Compaq 1710nx also from CompUSA same day - for it's intended use as a cheap schoolwork/personal use box for my daughter. Installs easily and works fine. Samsung website has all the info you need -...
Yikes, I was all over this until:
1. IE only
2. can be hacked
3. one of the rebate forms says send proof of purchase for wireless desktop
forum saved me a trip, $9.99 plus tax, and waiting for rebates
THANKS!
I bought a couple of these at geeks.com last month - they used to have them regularly on their green light specials for $5.59 - now seem to have disappeared (sold inventory to surplus computers?) - but I put them in low ball machines for friends (Fry's sempy 2800/ECS nforce3) for grins - they...
