I installed a Cendyne DVD burner. It was a bit larger than the liteon cdrw. The dvd burner pushed against the chassis fan connector and bent it.
Now the CPU fan stopped spinning. The computer shutdowns due to hot cpu.
Is there anyway to fix this or is the board gonna need to be replaced...

I had set the 4 computers motherboard bios to "yes" on the PNP Operating system setting.
I changed the setting to "no" and the NIC's work in DOS now.
I also got ghost 2001 PE to work on my Home Lan. Peer to Peer that is.

I bought one of these. But I wouldn't call it High Quality. I have a 1.5 year old intel usb video cam that is much better. The image from this Kodak is dark and blocky.
I think I'll put the intel camera back in my computer.

I purchased a 30gb maxtor from BM staples on 24th November. I see today they have a deal
that includes a 32mb RAM with purchase of 30gb maxtor.
Does anyone know the policy for taking my receipt back to staples to do a return and buyback in order to pickup the 32mb RAM??

is the rebate at selected stores?? The Circuit city here in fort wayne is 89.99 without a rebate listed or displayed anywhere.

My father-in-law worked for GE for 35 years. I asked him about the #2 pencil method. He said all pencils are not made the same. You would need to test the pencil with a meter (of some type)

I think i found the cause of this problem as well as another problem.
My KT7 box had a 235w power supply (power man). Normally it took 2 attempts to start computer.
The first attempt the fan would start, cdrom light would illiluminate but the monitor would not come on(just a blinking green...
I have 3 computers all running win98 SE.
2 of the three will randomly quit responding after windows shutdowns the monitor and hard drive. I have the monitor set to turn off after 15 minutes and the hard drive after 60 minutes. I have the standby mode set to "never".

Well, it appears the Ghost box is a little misleading.
Ghost 2001 only connects 2 puters at a time. One is the master the other is the slave.
2001 does not allow network drives to be used. You gotta buy the higher priced version for that feature.

I'm trying to run ghost 2001 in order to make images of each computer's HD onto one spare HD.
I have 3 computers on win98SE home lan. 2 of them have one HD each while 1 computer has two HD's.
The manual doesnt give much info on how to do this. It just tells me how to do a boot disk with tcp/ip...
I dont know how i could be the one to blame for these ibm failures.
I have purchased many various HD's over the past few years. It's only the IBM's that are giving me troubles.
The only common demoninator is that these is these drives have gone into an ABIT BH6 board.
