In my system I am running an Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 on the Asus P5W DH deluxe motherboard. Can I run the Vista 64bit OS on this? Does my CPU support 64bit processing? Thanks.
I've got you beat. I went to a wedding three weeks ago and drank my face off. It was an open bar. Anyways, after my first couple of drinks I ditched the cups and was running around the dance floor with a bottle of red wine. After that bottle I asked the bride if I could have a dance. As I moved...
With a mobo like the ASUS P5W-DH is there a good probability that the FSB can reach speeds of >= 1333MHz after tinkering with the bios? Or, is it the case, that the lucky few reach these speeds?
Thanks for the response.
Lets say, for example that my FSB is running at (266 x 4) = 1066MHz. Would there be a noticeable speed improvement by using memory that ran at 1066MHz? Would the memory have to wait every 4 cycles? Is DDR 533 all that the system could handle in this case? Thanks again.
I'm looking to build a new rig based on one of these new conroe processors. I would like to know your recommendations on memory speeds for such a system. I not too clear on how memory speeds work with the FSB (all those ratios and stuff mean nothing to me). I want to buy the 2.4GHz conroe and...
Does anyone know what Intel's roadmap for desktop motherboards is? I don't want to shell out big bucks for one of these new motherboards that support Conroe only to find out a new socket is to be introduced 6 months later. Will those future quad-core cpus run on socket 775?
