HELP! I am on my 3rd EVGA GTX 2080 TI XC Black edition due to black screens on the monitor.
First EVGA has been fabulous with their RMA procedure. I received my last 2080 TI Black 2 days ago and it booted up fine and ran but after I shut it down, the card ran but I had another black screen...
I actually bought my MO-RA3-420 Pro off of a person on Ebay who had bought it new From Watercool to build for a customer but the customer backed out. I got it for a great price and it has been steller. The tubes are copper but the fins are aluminum. No chance of aluminum contamination so you are...
I also will caution you to be careful whatever gpu block you use for the RAD VII. This is because the surface area of the gpu/HBM2 module may not be perfectly level. I think this is the reason AMD is using the thermal pad instead of thermal paste. I had a problem and had to RMA my first RAD VII...
Dr.Mr.LordX, I have a MO-RA3 420 Pro with the feet attached. I use Koolance quik release couplings with clear 1/2"ID/2/4"OD tubing. I have 9 XSPC 140mm fans attached to one side and control them via a fan controller.
Right now I am not using the MO-RA3 as I am air cooling the gpu and I'm using...
IEC, sorry to hear of this. I had to RMA my Radeon VII (new one is on its way from ASrock good job ASrock)
I decided to go 9900k/2080TI and bought the EVGA GTX2080TI black edition. GPU-Z lists my memory as Samsung.
So far so good. I just snagged an EVGA Hybrid kit for this gpu from EVGA so...
Everytime I used Steam and would try to run a game. I thought it was the NIC but put in a NIC and still happened. Tried the GPU on other rigs and the same thing happened.
Such is life. Now "learning" about the GTX2080TI.:):)
Stuka87: Sorry for the delay. I was on vacation.
I had to RMA my Radeon VII as I was having problems with it causing reboots regardless of what machine it was in.
Went over to the "darkside" with a GTX2080TI and 9900k.
I honestly doubt you will ever need a 18x140 setup since the capacity with just 9 140s in push is huge.
As to the hotspot temps, I commend AMD for doing this. This gpu monitors the hottest spot on the die to give an idea of the heat next to that sensor. I haven't looked to see if Nvidia does...
Dr.MrLordX, I bought it new on Ebay a few years ago when Model 3 just came out. The guy ordered one for a build that had the optional pedalstal feet and a fan shroud and I was lucky enough to win the bid.
I use KOOLance quick release coupling and have it setting externally next to my computer...
It's a beast but quiet. I have 2 sets of Koolance quick release couplings (male female). I use 1/2inch ID, 3/4 inch OD flexible tubing. I'm using the EK D5 Pump reservoir 140 combo and all works well.
BAAH, I am a sheep since I bought a Radeon VII. Ha Ha just making fun of myself.
I've owned a number of Nvidia cards and a number of AMD cards.
My 2 cents is that Navi is going to be released to go head to head with Turig mid range such as the GTX1660TI.
If a Navi is released that beats the...
I stand corrected that the nearly 80W delta between a stock Rad VII and a Watercooled Rad VII is due solely to the lack of 3 fans and a LED.
I suspect the lesser amount of heat due to watercooling amounts for the bulk of the delta.
No quirks so far other than running a lot cooler. I ran Firestrike with the core at 2050 and voltage maxed without a problem.
It will take some time to see how much this enables OCing but so far it looks like custom water cooling really helps.
It's the fans and the LCD lighting. BUT those fans do crank up at full load so I think they are drawing some wattage.
BTW, I used the Wattman auto undervolt function and here are the readings in brackets to the right of the normal volt reading. No overclocking.
GPU clock 1803 Mhz (1808)
Mem...
Just installed the Bykski block and my, oh my does it tame the Rad VII heat.
Here is the data from the render test built into the lataest version of GPU-Z
Here is the data at stock settings (Wattman at manual)
I have been running the Render test for @15 minutes.
These are max readings
GPU...
Bare minimum is probably 4G, but the jump to 8G is so close it is hard not to suggest 8G for a new purchase.
Obviously resolution has a ton to do with it. I would stay with 4g IF you play no higher than 1920x1080.
If you are 1440 or higher 8G.
Yes I do play at 4k. I moved the Acer ET 430k to the Radeon VII rig and it is GREAT at 4k. The GTX 1080TI did well also but since I only have 1 4k monitor so far I decided to try it on the newest video card.
I don't make money with my GTX1080TI and I don't make money with my Radeon VII. I don't make money with my GTX 1080.
I just like very fast video cards and I am lucky enough, at age 68, to be able to now afford them.
