I washed my hands of this LCD and got my money back. I suggest everyone does the same. It is obvious there is a massive chasm between Dell's customers and the actual people who are making the decisions. The previous post is a huge example of that.

My guess is that whomever said they got a 2007 w/no banding jumped the gun. I'm still waiting to see what this person's results were with the gradient test, as they had run no tests at the time of their post. The only good news i can see so far is that a mod over at the Dell forums has...

I think we all know by now that this is not a problem with a single builds of these displays. This is a problem with the whole 2007 series from Dell. Hence why i sent mine back and got a full refund, versus playing the exchange game. I'll save myself and UPS the hassle and play wait and see what...

Hmm, so i guess if Dell revisions the WFP there is a good chance they'll switch to a PVA panel in order to cut costs (not surprisingly). Oh well, i guess i'll continue to play wait and see.

Can you explain your reasoning for wanting a defective IPS panel vs. a non-defective PVA? If they are revisioning the FP, do you think they will revision the WFP? Seems only reasonable as both the FP & WFP were defective.

I saw he posted in the 'banding' thread as well (that is now 6 pages long i might add). I don't have any photos available for him as mine is packaged up, but i did point him to this thread. Hopefully this means someone at Dell is taking note. (doesn't hold breathe though)

Turn off the monitor, hold + and menu buttons at the same time while turning it on. After the power is on, let go of the 2 buttons and then press the - button.

You can set the whole thing up via their website. And yes, i know what you are talking about. When i hooked up the 2007 to the VGA port and ran some tests i noticed something strange when it was displaying greys. Make sure you tell them the problems with it when you send it back.

Sounds good, i just spread the word over at driverheaven also and included a link to this thread. As far as replacing the 2007, i'm not sure...they are getting it back and i'll play wait and see if Dell fixes them or not.

I play EVE, and it does have a bit of it's own 'banding' in game. However, it was massively worse with the 2007wfp, i noticed moving color bands throughout the entire screen when moving throughout space. The ironic thing is, my dell inspiron notebook displays gradients and EVE with zero...

Got my 2007FP

The question is, if they do switch panels on the 2007, which panel will they choose? It seems to be a crapshoot with Dell, great in all areas with the exception of one that brings down the whole unit.

We can only hope that Dell gets the hint with the returns of the 2007s. I won't hold my breath, but the good news is Dell is paying for UPS to come pick up the thing from my house. Back to the old trustworthy CRT.

So does the Dell 2007WFP have HDCP or not?

I never tested for banding on the 2007WFP and noticed it right away during an Eve Online session. The further testing i did merely re-enforced the fact that something was not right in the gradient department. Anyone able to get to the service menu on the 2007WFP?

Ok, fired up the 2007WFP with the new DVI cable from DataPro...and you guessed it, the gradient banding is still there. I guess i had to rule out the cable before i go through the hassle of sending it back. It's a shame, because to be honest, minus the banding issues, this is really a nice...

I have to agree with guidryp here. Why spend your hard earned money on a defective product. More and more companies these days seem to be getting away with producing and selling junk. In any case, i am using a 2007 WFP display at the moment and will attest to the fact that it indeed has color...
