Well I've reseated the Heatsink and my temps didn't change, so unless the surface is uneven, it should be making good contact. I just see all these people with E6400's at 3.2 with temps that are lower then mine. Its a bit concerning. Maybe the E6600 just runs a bit hotter?
My other concern is that I don't even have a video card in it yet, it should be arriving today. (I'm using a 8MB PCI video card) But having a 7900GTX in my case will only bring up the temps.
I have my system OCed to 2999.3Ghz, (333*9) with my memory voltage at 2.1 running at 416Mhz
I'm looking at 41 Idle, and about 56 with a full load from prime95 (two instances, one for each core). I'm getting these temps from Core Temp. My Gigabyte software reports about 48-51 with a full...
Also, what is more accurate, the Bios temp readings (for idle only obviously) or software monitering? What program should I be using to moniter my temps?
Thanks!
Just wondering if this is a safe goal for OCing, or if It's a bit too high. I'll be using a Thermalright Ultra-120 Heatsink/fan w/ Gigabye DS3 Motherboard.
Ok guys, this is the deal. I have the Lian Li PC-101 case, and will be using the thermalright Ultra-120 Heatsink.
If I position the heatsink to sit horizontally, how will that affect my airlfow? (example:

Well, I've decided to stick with the P180 I have coming. Hopefully I will like it.
Update: Dang you and your persuasive post. I ordered the PC-101B. I hope I love it as much as you do.
Have you had any problems with the 24-pin motherboard power cable reaching?
I'm going to be using...

We need to be more specific here. He wants the 965P DS3, not the 965G DS3. The 965G has OCing limitations.
I would also like to know where we are at on this- I too ordered the 965G from newegg.
Whats the skinny? Are we still dealing with the hardware limitations in the f4 bios build?
