well like u said these things are basically neck and neck,with the E6300 probably being slightly faster... so really it doesnt matter which one u pick,they are both great CPU's , so basically get the one that is cheaper... u said u arnt going to be overclocking? if u get the E6300 u gotta...

Socket 939 Opteron 146, how high can I overclock it. Please tell me.

how long is a piece of string??? all processor overclock ability varies from proc to proc... i have hered about the stepping u have on ur opty (a mate had one) , and if u have decent Mobo/RAM/PSU , then ur opty if ur lucky could hit anywhere between 2.7-3.1ghz on air... obviously only...

Cant OC AMD 3500 939? WTF! Can anyone help?

well if its not the RAM...and not the PSU... then i would say its the mobo... a good mobo is imo the key to overclocking stability...u said u cant change the CPU's Vcore (im assuming thats because the mobo wont let u ???) suggesting the mobo is a cheap one... i mean yea ok u should be able...

y are u running that mint ram at such a slow speed??? set the RAM to the divider above the one u are currently on and see how u get on then...

Intel E6600 2.4Ghz Conore Benchmark

in gaming the FX-62 didnt seem to be that far at all behind conroe...except in 800x600 resolution where conroe had about 20fps more...but who in there right mind would play a game @ 800x600 if they bought a $1000 processor... when the resolution and AA/AF was turned up the FX did quite...

3200+ vs 3700+ overclocking potential?

get the 3700+... these have been known to hit 2.7-3ghz on air (3ghz only if ur lucky) , and geberlly clock higher than most venices i have seen...the 3700+ also have the 1MB of L2 cache... having said all that the venice cores of the 3000+,3200+,3500+ and 3800+ are also very stable...

Need help on overclocking an AMD 4000+ with DFI Lanparty Ultra mobo

yes put ur memory on a divider... it should be under the RAM options in the bios... it will either be RAM : CPU ratio or RAM speeds 200/166/133 etc... set urs at 166 then continue raiseing the FBS

Whats Best LDT Bus for 3200+ @ 2.8GHz

i personally wouldnt go above 1.55 Vcore , but thats just me... the LDT/HTT bus doesnt seem to be the problem with ur CPU not being able to reach 2.8ghz... it must either be ur CPU's limit @ 2.75 , or another factor is effecting the overclock,such as RAM... what are ur current RAM settings?

Help Me Overclock my Opty 144 on AN8 SLI

Drop HTT multi to x3 Set memory divider (166mhz) then bump up the FSB until the system becomes unstable... when system is unstable/doesnt boot,then raise the vcore until stabiltiy is achieved(note,dont go to rediculas levels of vcore)

Stick with FX-60 or wait for Conroe??

um u already have a x2 4800+ ... a FX-60 wouldnt really offer much performance increase at all... overclock that x2 4800+ to 2.6 (which will be achieved easily) and u have urself a Fx-60 for free

CTR vs LCD

alrite i dont know terribly much about either of these,but im looking for a monitor which basically is of reasonable quality that has a resolution of 1600x1200... now that basically means a 20" LCD,or a 19" CTR the 20" LCD = $935 the 19" CTR = $280 (note these prices are in NZ...

mid-range system build - critique me!

looks ok i guess...u will need to get that 3000+ to atleast 2.4ghz to get the most out of that card... if this is a budget rig,u may want to consider the 7600GT ?

OCing clarification: Opty 170, A8R32-MVP, GSkill 2GBHZ

set the HTT @ x4,and bump up the vcore ever so slightly...then boot up and test in prime95...also check memtest to make sure the RAM isnt causing the problem... if so loosen timings or put RAM voltage to the rccomended 2.8v's give that ago

Overclocking my 3200+ Venice

yes u are overclocking perfectly... to check ur temps without restarting download "everest" (google it) it will tell u ur temps as well as other useful system info... if stable in prime95 let us know... if it isnt then try upping ur Vcore slightly and see how u go

opinions on this RAM

yea ok...i would need it to hit about 240mhz because then i can use the 266 divider and max out the RAM @ about 240mhz and have the CPU @ max oc at 2.6ghz then i get best of both worlds.... so there is no RAM that will hit 240mhz guarenteed ??? that isnt terribly dear and is 2x512

OC'ability on 3000+,3200+, and 3700+?

my 3000+ venice is perfectly stable @ 2.62ghz (24 hours prime stable) @ 1.525 Vcore i have a Zalman 7700-CU and temps never go above 43 degrees full load...

hey guys i am after some good RAM so that i can get a nice overclock on CPU/RAM alike... currently my RAM is running @ 190mhz as i needed to use the 166 divider to have a stable overclock... and i wanted to be able to buy some RAM that was cheap but would hit about 240mhz overclocked...

hmmm...ok i see what ur saying... but the FV-900CU supports all of the latest GFX cards,so i was going to get that one just incase later on i upgraded that i could just transfere the cooler to the new card... because the FV-700CU doesnt support 7 series nvidia cards or X1800/X1900 ATi...

Hey guys i currently have my 6600GT @ 542/1202 if i go any higher what so ever on the core clock i see artifacts,i think the memory however has some more juice left in it... my question to u is... if i bought a after market cooler (i had the FV-900CU in mind) would i be able to raise...
