Thinkpad T510 - Blinking Power Button - No Boot

Excellent suggestion! It booted with the docking station...had to dig it out from the garage...have never used it. Ordering a replacement keyboard and feeling less bleak! Edit: I'll mark it solved once the replacement keyboard is in and running.

Video Editing Laptop on a $700+/- budget?

I need to be able to make simple edits and colour correction to some HD video. My T510 was able to get it done (barely)...but it seems to have bitten the dust. I'm currently looking at something in the W520 or T530 range, but would be willing to switch to another brand. I have a Samsung 840...

Excellent! This pushed me in the right direction! Thanks! If I'm able to source a hand-me-down video card, it it worth incurring a bit more expense on a better power supply? Would having a dedicated graphics card change your motherboard/cpu selection?

2 PC's + 1 NAS Connect - 3rd PC won't...

I dont understand how airlines can lose hundreds of millions.....

usually when companies that size report losses its reality<projections thats what the music industry does...but it doesn't mean they didn't make money... the other thing they do is pay all the employees all the way to the top, and eventually dissolve a company and form a new one to avoid...

i5 is better upgrade in my opinion, great architecture. but if a few crappy fans and a bios glitch are the only problems i might suggest sticking with what you've got and saving some more pennies for when the i5's drop a little more, selling your current rig and going from there. the value of...

Spending 300 Bucks On Budget Build....Need Advice

i agree. $300 isn't enough for a decent new computer. the quality you're sacrificing to save a few $$ will just bite you in the ass. Get an asus p5kpl-cm, e5200, crappy case, whatever ram is on sale, 500gb seagate or western digital and at least a mid range psu like a coolermaster extreme...

SATA vs. IDE DVD drive ??

Sata burners are generally a couple bucks cheaper as well. I'd say sata...all new mobos have at least 4 sata ports, and it leaves you ide channel free for an old dvdrom or something. Sata, as stated above is better for your next machine as well, although cheap dvdrw's dont have the greatest...
