I am moving the old E6300 to my HTPC so I just want to get a CPU for my IP35-E to replace it... I would love to get a Q9400/Q9550 from Microcenter in Silicon Valley but they are OOS on both :(...anyone know how long it takes MC to restock CPUs like this?

Variable idle temp on my GTX 260?

That's what I figured but it's tough to figure out what is causing it...sometimes the only prog "open" is firefox and it is still high...even if I only use precision to o/c and do it manually the drivers will switch clocks based upon 2D and 3D apps though?

Variable idle temp on my GTX 260?

I recently got an EVGA 260 216 55nm card so I've been monitoring temps a little more closely than usual and I've noticed that with ambient and CPU temps holding steady my GTX 260 will sometimes be 43C (40% fan) and other times is up to 54C (40% fan)...then if I reboot it will sometimes be back...

1680x1050 demands what?

I went from a 7900GS OC to a GTX 260 (216) and couldn't be happier...at its price point it cannot be beat...I'm using an HP 22" screen at 1680x1050...I haven't had a chance to try a lot of games but I can tell you I can play Dead Space and FEAR 2 at that res with everything at max including 4x...

Thanks...just curious though...why wouldn't I want it? I'm using the 16 beta 1 right now but it's acting a little strange...and I use EIST, etc and supposed that has a problem that is fixed with bios 17...

FYI...you're probably really running at 40C...what software are you using to check cpu temps? Most report those chips incorrectly and you need to add 15C...

Abit IP35-E hangs on ABIT screen..help!

Just to throw out there a random one that happened to me: I was freezing off and on at the boot screen...my PSU does not have a six-pin for my 7900gs video card so I use one of those 6-pin to two molex adapters...turns out I forgot to plug in one of the two molex 4-pins...ever since I connected...

That sucks...why not just fix the damn double boot issue and leave the rest alone? UPDATE: I just ran SP 1M and mine is slower by 0.4 seconds as well :(

Points well taken...trying to save $40 on the mobo but spending $50 on a good cooler actually makes sense to me...it's called spending smartly...he doesn't need the bells and whistles so why spend the $40 yet the $50 is going to allow him to overclock his cpu and keep it cool at the same...

Bro...you're missing some of what he's saying...he did not buy a Big Typhoon for the NB...it's a cpu cooler that happens to do a good job of blowing air across the mobo which in turn is doing a good job of cooling the NB...therefore to anyone who knows how a Big Typhoon works, you now look like...

I have E1ST/C1E turned on but have been using "maximum performance mode" mainly because I don't want my hdds turning off or my comp going to sleep...what is the setting that is different between the two? Then I could leave it on maximum performance but still have the cpu management correct for...

e6600 non OC temps

Not that idle temps are that important but doesn't it also matter if people have EIST/C1E enabled in the bios? It usually is on by default so if not disabled will show lower idle temps than someone with them disabled...

Any good c2d mobos with 2 IDE connections?

Would an IDE to SATA adapter work in my situation (just so I can keep the drive in the case)? Otherwise, the SATA DVD drive is a good idea...my Pioneer 4x drive still works but it is a 4x burner so it's probably time to move on...plus a cheap pci ide controller is $20 after shipping anyway and...

The w2207 does look great at first glance (and second glance) but when comparing it to the LG L226WT, there are a couple of noticable differences...the LG has better blacks and less backlight bleed...the HP looks like a swirl of light on a black screen...now I know we don't usually sit and stare...

I have both the w2207 and l226wt (although I don't have room to put them side by side) and they both have their pros/cons...if you're specifically talking about gaming, I feel the w2207 is better in that the screen type allows for a bit more "pop" than the l226wt...the LG appears to have...

Sorry....LG L226WT and HP W2207...I edited it above... And btw xtknight: I might be being dense here but your settings for the LG include using sRGB with a contrast of 65 yet once I set it to sRGB I cannot change the contrast level...and when using sRGB did you adjust the R,G, and B levels...
