i already built my 1st, but that was a few years ago with the p4 northwood...some technology has changed, but id like to have something to refer to if i happen to have a problem
im only building my 2nd system and expect some drama!!
so i know of a guide, "mechBgon's guide for first-time newbie computer builders, and stuff"..are there anymore around..id like to get as many viewpoints as possible!

i really dont think its fair bout the video card comment..it depends on the game and if it was optimized for that certain card's architecture. using it as a blanket statement for 7900gtx and its performance on all games in invalid; ive tried the card. on independent benchmars, the typhoon...
hmmmm...u got a good point...my goal is to try to reach around 2.7-2.8 ghz....im thinking maybe the 165 might be able to do it upon some internet researrch

and changed the HSF to a big typhoon...

im not that great with computers..so....the board says "DDR Standard DDR 400 (PC 3200)"...if i buy faster valueram...will it stop at that speed or use a higher speed?
is there any case that will allow a lot of room with an a8n32-sli , and EVGA 7900GTX and a big typhoon heatsink?

im thinking about the opteron 175 now....as people are saying its identicle to the 4400+ sans the opteron having higher 1.4 voltage and a superior archtecture, thus overclockability, will the socket 939 175 work with the a8n32-sli?!?
im still a little hesistent to give the green like on a 4400+....im afraid it will go out of date too soon....and maybe with the 7900gtx..i want a better cpu to support it...i know its not overclockable greatly..but then again...the fx series is on the same dye, which would yield similiar OCing...
only reason i picked the xms is the sli-certified thing-im definitly considering the ocz...but there is a 50 dollar mail-in rebate on the corsair bringing it down to 139.99
actually the same system at monarch is giving me over 1800 without the seasonic and scythe....and other retailers a lot ofproducts are on backorder and they dont have..looks like ill be using newegg afterall
