Help! System won't POST after shutting down?

Before you do that, do you have any usb card readers or printers turned on and connected? They cause me not to post until I turn them off. If that's not the case then try replacing the battery.

Why doesn't my motherboard POST when my USB printer is plugged in? (Asus P5B Deluxe)

PSU is making a "chirping" sound

Just a quick and dirty update; I tried what you said, and it is indeed the fan. Funnily enough, after I took out the thing that stopped the fan, the fan started spinning and hasn't made any of those noises again. Cool beans and thanks much, m.

Thanks for responding! The unit is an Antec Neo NE 550W psu. And I hope my description is good enough, but to me it definitely sounds like a chirp, rather than a whiny noise, which now that you mention it, would make more sense if a capacitor was going bad.

XP MCE 2005 OK for P5W DH Deluxe?

E6600 Temperature nightmare :(

I was always under the impression that TAT and CoreTemp measured "core temperatures", which usually translates to being 3-5 degrees higher than "cpu temperatures." Meaning, 40 degrees on TAT means a CPU temp around 35 degrees. If that's the case, your temperatures are better than average.

About to get Vista Ultimate OEM

OEM licenses are tied to the version you purchase. If you purchase a 32bit version, that's it. You can't move it to another computer, you can't upgrade it to a 64bit version, nor can you buy the home premium upgrade versions if you buy an oem version of Vista Ultimate.

Quick question regarding Vista installation and Ram

How much ram do you have now and what do you mean about the "situation"? If you have enough ram to use now, just go ahead and install vista. That way you'll see the difference the extra ram makes when you install it and congradulate yourself for making a great purchase. Or not.

Vista blue screen with Divx, Xvid

Not sure what it could be, but did you try the XP codecs or the other all-or-nothing codec from www.freecodecs.com? I have it installed on my 64 bit Vista Ultimate, e6700, p5w DH, and 2gigs of Corsair XMS 6400 and the codecs work fine.

They were OEM versions, which are sold i seperate versions. They are sold seperately. The retail version (upgrade and retail) have both versions inside the box.

Here's a strange one

Also make sure your monitor's plugged in correctly. It happens to me since I have to move my monitor more often than I like, so the DVI isn't always screwed in. I'm sure this is probably not the reason, but it may be so inane that you could be overlooking it.

64bit Vista - Will all of my programs work?
