Is it worth buying a 19" Widescreen or Should I stick with the good ol' cube?

i bought my little sister an 19" WS for christmas. i have a 20" myself. big difference. personally, i would buy a 19" FS before the widescreen. it just seems too small to be useful. the only thing it's good for is movies where you actually benefit from the shape of the screen. for regular stuff...

man you really made my day saying that. when antec told me i couldn't get the psu fixed, i got so disappointed and a little mad that i wanted to throw it out the window but i didn't because i really couldn't accept it's death. Now it's just another piece in building another decent computer...

My DVD burner only reads @ 1x...

you should check your dma settings, but even at pio only mode it should still read at 3x speed.

update rather than upgrade for vista.

i think i found the solution to my problem. since i don't really want to sacrifice any performance from the hard drive i could just upgrade my raptor to the newer 74gb raptor with the 16mb cache. it's actually a faster drive overall and since i think i just received a bad apple so to speak on...

Watching tv on my 2007wfp

but a tv tuner means that you have to watch tv through the computer. you wouldn't be using any of the inputs of the screen so the PIP on the monitor wouldn't work in that situation. i have the same screen and use a digital cable box. That would incur an extra cost though. the interlaced signal...

how do you compare single rail to dual rail? Is dual rail at 18A equivalent to 1 rail at 36A. can i look at it that way? When looking at power requirements that only give single rail requirements how do i know if my PSU is good enough? oh, and thanks for the quick reply.

Ordered a 7900gtx and it's on its way. need to know if my Antec neopower 480W is good enough for this card. evga's website says i need 450Watts and 22amps on the 12V rail, but my PSU has dual rails at 18W. The PSU comes with PCI-e connectors. Currently i'm running 2 6600gts with no problems...
