    ATI Tray Tools also has a built in artifact scanner. I could never get Tray Tools to pick up any though ATI Tool would only pick up artifacts untill my 1950xt got real hot. Best way to test, in my opinion, is with playing your favorite game. And simply skip all the synthetic tests.

    Another method thats a little more involed, but more difinitive then the razor trick, is to place a small droplet of water on the IHS and place a pane of glass/mirror onto it. If the IHS sticks then the surface is flat. If there is no cohesion then you should lap. Hope that helps.
