E6420 light OC'd with PC5300 667

i think keep your AC on, or get a better CPU cooler. Vcore isnt a problem, your cooler is, however you may get stable at lower.... im testing my E6400 @ 3250Mhz+ with 1.32V atm, however mine is a rather sweet chip. Crucial 10th Aniv is a bad example to compare your ram against, as i can get...

PSU affecting OC?

check for voltage drops on your rails under load, and use an online PSU calculator to figure out the MAX wattage you could possibly need.

Triple-core's

surely as the C2Qs are 2 dies with 2 cores per die, either both cores on the die work, or none? So you could sell them as Dual cores if they dont work propperly. Tripe core is unlikely IMO

ASUS P5K Deluxe

do you have it oriented front-to-back, or top-to-bottom? If the former, is there any overlap over the "top" edge of the mobo..... i have a PC-A10, wich has a 120mm fan v close to the top of the mobo, with my RD600 i cant have it facing the rear exhaust as it hits the top of the case!

6420 Disappointment

6850 @ 60C idle..... lap that beast! as for the DS3.. maybe a FSB hole? Try bumping it up by a reasonable chunk, rather than by a few mhz. Some mobos have buggered FSB strapping at certain frequencies, yours may be one of them. 2.8Ghz is 350FSB..... maybe push it to 375+ on 1.4/1.45 and see...

Choosing a Case

Lian-Li arent soley a high price manufacturer, the PC-7+ is a excelent case, that on build quality and capability blows a lot of more expensive cases out of the water. Thier more expensive cases are still comparable to others in their price bracket, but with the excelent design and finishing...

Socket 775 board that supports 2 x16 PCI-E cards??

the only board i know of with 16x/16x is the nF 680i. the RD600 has only 8x/8x. To be fair though, the difference between the two isnt exactly massive, if any at all. 16x/16x is almost a gimick at this stage, there isnt realy any need for that much bandwidth, even for the 8800s!

every time i install ANY ATI driver, it freezes at the windows load screen after reboot, and i need to DriverCleaner the VGA drivers from my system before i can boot again. This happens on stock settings AND on overclock (when i had probs i reset the BIOS), its an AGP X800XT PE I'm getting an...

How big of an image quality diff between a 7900 and a x1950pro

i just grabbed a HIS X1950pro 256MB.... was tempted by the XT, but the lack of internal Crossfire was a turn off..... i want to be able to run 1+1 and then 2+1 when i grab me an R600! Should be a nice boost over my current X800XT PE though!

Anyone know any good in-windows memory timing tweakers that work with this board? MY old socket 939 Opteron let me run A64tweaker which was a great timesaver over having to keep rebooting to get memory stable overclocks....... anything like that for Intel that runs on this board?

Anyone actualy have any info on what the board outputs as ram voltages for the low/normal/high settings for both DDR and DDR2? be nice to know what i'm pumping into my Dimms, and what ram i can safely upgrade to.

ok, i have the boot error upon installing the Catalyst drivers (with X800XT PE AGP), i havent tried keeping on going to see if it eventualy boots, but i can get back in via the "use last stable boot settings" option that windows pops up with (but of course that means i cant use the Gfx) there...
