If your motherboard can support it, I'd suggest a mobile Barton. You should be able to find these resonably priced in the trading forums.
There are both 35W and 45W models, and if run at stock speeds are very easy to keep cool.

I have been able to increase the image quality settings, while still doubling the frame rates of my old 9800 Pro.
Am running a 3200+ S754 Venice along with a single hard drive/optical drive on an Antec 350W without any problems.
I liked my $79.99 ECS & Sempron 3100+ deal so much that I figured I'd buy another for the kids.
Saw this deal and so it looks like the kids will be getting my 3100+ and I'll take this one for me!

Finally decided to go ahead and get one, and am glad that I did. Might have to pick up another for the kids.
Got mine last week and it is up and running......2.34Ghz stable using the Biostar BIOS and a step up in core voltage. Should be able to take it to at least 2.4Ghz when I have some time to play with the settings.
