Anyone tried to fit an NV Silencer onto a 8800GT?

Anyone tried to fit an NV Silencer onto a 8800GT?

Arctic Cooling really dropped the ball when the 7900 series came out, and what they finally did come to market with missed their release date by almost a year. The fan on Thermaltake's copycat of the NV Silencer uses a Molex adapter instead of 3-pin PWM, so it can't be speed controlled. FYI.

I'm sure it's only a matter of time before someone somes out with a dual slot card for the 8800GT. Personally, I'd prefer my video card to vent externally.

SWP60 Spec sheet for this stand. Only cause for concern is the tiny legs. Other than that, it doesn't look too bad and the price is nice, compared to some of the equivalent stuff I've been looking at from Salamander Design.

I'll probably have to wait for the G81 and hope they shrink the length of those cards. There's no way I'll be able to fit the GTX in my machine, and I think even the GTS would be a really tight squeeze.

EVGA 7900GT KO

Actually, you've got that backwards. The KO has a larger cooler than the CO. It produces lower temps as well. The KO cooler covers the RAM, whereas the CO cooler (Nvidia stock) does not. Bottom line, get the 7900GT KO.

What is the quietest cooler for a 7900GT

The bottom line is no matter how high the performance of the Accelero S1, it won't be able to cool better than an active fan-based system. And I think a lot of people choose Arctic Cooling specifically because of the DHES (Direct Heat Exhaust System). I know it would make a work of difference...
