I think the answer is no.

Can I use DDR2 in my DDR motherboard?
No. DDR2 memory sockets can only support DDR2 DIMMs and vice versa. DDR2 modules have a different number of pins and have a notch in a different position than DDR.
I have the below motherboard
Been using the below memory
But can use ddr 2 memory with this board.
Reason is this memory is almost half the price of DDR memory.
thanks
This worked like a charm for me.
There are three in total and since they are transparent cannot see them.
Got about a 5 degree drop in temparatures.
Thanks for pointing this out.
This did the trick for me. I made sure everything was disconnected from the motherboard and than cleared the cmos. And now i can boot up fine. Have had to revert to a pervious bios setting though.
thanks for the help
but when i turn my pc on nothing happens all i hear is the fans and that is it.
the only way i can switch it off is if i unplug the machine.
the floppy or cd drives will not boot.

Well yes warm air rises.
but this setup has my CPU temparature at 42 degree centigrade when IDLE as opposed to CPU TEMP of 44 degree centigrade IDLE when the fan was blowing air out.
The fan at the rear I think is more than enough to get rid of the warm air. ANd with the top fan blowing air...
I have a fan at the back of the case and at the top of the case.
the 12mm fan at the back of the case if blowing air out. but the 12mm fan at the top is blow in into the case and opposed to out.
does not make much difference though. probably 1 to 2 degress at the most
UPDATE,
I have changed the direction of airflow in my P180 tower so that the air flow from the top fan i.e on the top panel if blowing air into the box as opposed to sucking it out.
this results in a temparature drop of about 3 degrees so now I am runing at around 41 degrees idle and the...
I have almost the same specifications as your
AMD X2 Arctic Cooling Pro Ver RUNING HOT
Read the thread above on this same board.
And my temparatures seem to be runing high. Could be to do with a motherboard sensor than if all Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe are showing high temparatures
Thank you for your replies. Delighted by the feedback. Let me try and answer the points.
Well this is about my 8th build and usually get away with very low temparatures.
My CPU temparatures start off at about 39 degrees and gradually increase to 45 degrees and than even out and may...
