Got my first one today. Very fast. 10X average transfer rate on my first measurement with Nero Drivespeed. Also very quiet with DVD movies, as the RPMs automatically drop for that.

Well, I tried everything I can think of. I updated the BIOS. Removed everything except the one drive. It works in 4 other pcs OK. I wonder if a newer BIOS than the one on the CD might allow for the 80 Gig drive?
I may have found a problem with the motherboard. With my IBM drives, everything works fine. When I tried to change to an 80 Gig Maxtor, the motherboard would not detect the drive.
