Anyone get a Dell 2007FP recently. Screen type?

I have one at work, rev. A02, it is the Samsung PVA. I used to have an L2000C myself (sent it back due to banding problems), which is supposedly the same panel as the IPS 2007FP. I have to say, after using both, I think I prefer the PVA, the viewing angles are better (yes they really are) and...

LCD Buyer's Guide

Are Dell still putting two different types of panel in 2007fp (not fpw) rev. A02? I have a new 2007fp A02 at work, it is S-IPS and works great, no banding. I'm thinking of buying one for myself, if I get an A02 am I gauranteed to get an S-IPS panel? Luke

I'm getting really frustrated with the whole thing now, I have still not recieved a replacement for my original L2000C, apparently it got lost somewhere in their RMA system. I am tempted now to just cancel the L2000C replacement and go with the Viewsonic from a different supplier. It seems...

I will let you know, it is going to take a couple more days before the replacement L2000C arrives. I am hoping I'll have both monitors here by the end of the week. Luke

Pixels can be stuck either on or off, so check with a white background and a dark background. But as far as diagnosis goes, you put it perfectly yourself; if you can't see them, they are not there.

Yeah if the problem effects all L2000C monitors then they are certainly not living up to their claims. It just seems odd to me that more reviews have not picked up on it, banding in pure colours is one thing, but rainbow greys takes it to another level. My current plan is to get the...

I spoke to LG and they said: "it is not a known problem, you should return the monitor." But then again, I wouldn't expect their support people to know of, or admit to, a problem with the design. The thing is even though I just bought the monitor it says it is manufactured in January 2006...

What is the LCD "twinkling" effect?

I see a lot of reviews talking about "twinkling" during video playback on LCD screens, what exactly is this effect and how do you spot it? What people describe simply sounds like MPEG artifacting noise, but why should an LCD make that any worse? I am quite technically minded, so if someone...
