OK, I have no idea what an ATSC tuner is.
Basically I want to connect it directly to a TV box I got from Comcast without having to purchase any converter or anything.
EDIT: I just noticed the manual was copyrighted in 2000. Would that mean the TV is from that year too?
Hi
I'm looking at used TVs on Craigslist. I'm probably going to move to another state in about a year so I don't want to spend a lot of money on a TV and have trouble moving it. I want to buy something and sell it a year later on craigslist.
I found a deal for a Sony projection TV. The...
Thanks for all the replies. I should remember to image the drive if this ever happens again. I was however able to recover a good percentage of the pictures (maybe 65-70%).
Recuva was really convenient. But for some reason it wouldn't recover the pictures taken with my camera (Canon t1i)...
Hi
My wife accidentally deleted the her whole pictures file on her laptop. I have tod her not to use that laptop until we can recover the photos. I'm assuming that the photos should still be on the HDD but will be overwritten by other files being written to the HDD if I don't recover them.
I...
I'd recommend you also take a look at the lenovo thinkpad lineup. You might want to consider battery life as well. My brother has a latitude D830 and he loved it. My dad has vostro 1510 which is also great. But the battery on both of their laptops wore out and had to be replaced before they were...
The article says that it has switchable graphics when unplugged. I thinkg the 5650 takes over automatically when you plug the laptop in. When you unplug it it switches back to intel.
Check out the HP ENVY 14. It was released on June 27 so reviews aren't out yet. Some German fellows at Notebook review have gotten their hands on it though.
The starting price is $1099 for:
-Core i3 370 (can upgrade to Core i5 450 with $50)
-4 GB of RAM.
-switchable graphics, the dedicated part...
You should find an Olympus OM-1 and look through the VF. Now THAT is jaw dropping.
Here, check this out: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=465469
The 7D VF is significantly larger than 40/50D. It's even larger than the 1DII and 1DIII!
Aluminum casing or something like that
13"-14" matte with good picture quality
a keyboard like Dell Adamo
5+ hours battery life (in reality!)
Core i5 CPU
Optimus graphics
under 4 pounds
$1200 max.
The closest I've come across is the HP Envy 14.
Canon EF 70-200mm F/4L
Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6
Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro
If I were you I would probably leave the macro for after the trip.
Yeah, and I agree that you have too many lenses. I'm sure it would feel good to get rid of some of them;)
EDIT: In my opinion the 18-135 alone would be...
I'm no expert so I'll leave it to someone else to explain. You can look at sample pictures for those lenses at POTN though. I used to think the differences in these lenses were insignificant, until I looked at the sample pictures for the 50L.
However, I cannot afford any of them in the near...
It just can. Rebels are actually slower than higher end DSLRs.
There is no one best brand. Canon and Nikon stand out. You can use almost any canon lens on the rebel series. You can't use EF-S lenses on full-frame DSLRs though. However, FFs are way out of your price range.
DSLRs are great...
I agree that Nikons look warmer. I really like their looks actually. Maybe its because I've always been around Canons. When I look at a Canon I think this is the typical DSLR look. When I look at a Nikon the controls look alien to me and I think this one is technologically advanced:D
First of all, go look for deals at B&H or Adorama or any other reputable retailer.
B&H has good deals for the D5000 + 18-55 VR + 55-200 VR.

I think the Canon rebates are over, I bought the T1i + 18-55 IS + 55-250 IS for $825 at B&H...
Really?!
I always felt like nikons look better for technical looks. I was really tempted to buy a D5000 instead of the T1i (which I currently own), just because of this very stupid reason:D
I don't know about the 20D but 30D BODY goes for about $400 at POTN. If he got it he'd have to spend more to get a lens.
I think its a good deal. I'd probably go for it.
I wouldn't exactly call the d90 "best SLR for the money". You can buy a cheaper body and invest in getting quality glass.
First of all, if I you only want to take pictures of family and gatherings why don't you get a good P & S?
If you want to get a SLR though I would recommend starting with a...
This is the complete text of the error:
C:\LIGHTNER.EXE
SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\VirtualDeviceDrivers. Virtual Device Driver format in the registry is invalid. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.
I did some searching. Apparently its because of something that NIS2007 did...
Really? I'm not using any service pack. The Fn wont work after I update to SP1. stupid reason I know..
so does this mean that if I install SP1 my problem will be fixed?
I get this error a little while after I turn on my laptop. and then it keeps on coming..
I can't open the control panel, can't see my system properties by right clicking on my computer, can't print, can't open network and sharing center and many more can'ts! It's very frustrating.
The...
I switch to 64-bit vista just a while back, and now a good number of the DVDs I try to burn fail. I mean it won't even start burning. Power2Go doesn't give me a specific reason. I have the latest version which is suppose to support 64-bit windows. The windows burning software (whatever it's...
I updated the bios before buying the CPU. I can't remember getting a message saying update successful or anything. I get the right version listed in the system information though.
I tried several programs and real temp was one of them. I also ran a test with prime95 and I got 74C on the cores...
Any ideas? Anyone?
How much damage will this do to my CPU?
I'm only using the PC for web browsing until I come up with a solution. The core temp is about 53-54C.
Could this just be happening because of the hot whether?
Personally I think it isn't worth it. I would stick with what you have right now and wait for next gen cards to come. Then possibly build an i5 0r i7 system with it.
I just changed my CPU last night and installed a e8400.I was initially having trouble getting the fan+heatsink in place. When I turned on the PC, the temp went up to over 100C in no time and it shut down. I thought the heatsink must not be attached firmly and I tried reattaching it but it didn't...
