Question Custom loop - worth it?

I am very big into custom loops, have done three so far. I started because my gpu, at the time, was hitting around 85*C and with the fans at 100% the noise was driving me crazy. I put together my first custom loop and doubt I will ever go back to air cooling. The three reasons I do it are for...

wow i think it was the motion blur. i turned it off and i can play on high settings, 16x aa, hbao and play smoothly now. i get spikes here and there but not like every three seconds anymore.

my temps are great, great air cooling. cpu doesnt pass 55*c on full load. if i set my cpu back to default and run the game, would this be a better way of testing rather than testing my oc for stability? so if i set my cpu to default and still get the spikes than its not the oc...

When playing bf3, no matter what video settings i use, i consistently get cpu spikes. The higher the settings the worse the spikes. it seems they happen every 3 seconds and every time they do i can feel the game stutter. on the perfoverlay chart, seen below, when the yellow line reaches close...

i havent flashed my bios since the oc but my bios is the latest version Noctua NH-D14 @zap, yes performance went up and besides my temps everything seems stable. @Ferzerp, i just hate seeing high temps xD

im pretty positive my heatsink is on properly the artic silver 5 im using is very old though, has been in the refrigerator for years... could be the issue? tweak, i do use adobe ps, flash, illustrator and dreamweaver as you stated, turning off ht has made performance worse but my temps much...

i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz these were my temps before i overclocked after playing bf3, with a ZALMAN CNPS9500 heatsink. so i used easy tune 6 to oc to 3.45ghz and im noticing a very nice up in performance in bf3. not much greater fps but i can definitely see a difference. Unfortunately...

still i doubt a 600w would be able to support my system, i took that psutest and i was above 600ws. while in the rma process im only going to use one of my cards but once i get my psu back i will be running both.

ive already ran mem test and prime 95 over night with no errors. My guess at this point is either gigabyte didnt fix the board or the ram and mobo just arnt compatible. A family friend is currently working on it, he has the equiptment so hopefully he can determin the problem by tomorrow.
