It's onboard a Dell XPS 700, "Montgomery 2 Sigmatel Stac 92XX C-Major HD Audio."
Ookay guys, I just ordered a webcam and the Xtreme Music card for $122 - $60 in rebates from Amazon. They should be here in two days.
It is difficult for me to describe the difference in sound. I've heard...
I'm by no means an audiophile. A few months ago, I needed some speakers so got the Z-2300 2.1 set mostly because I had a $100 Dell coupon and nothing else to spend it on. Otherwise, I would have probably gotten cheaper speakers and been happy with them, not really appreciating what good...
I have the Ultra-X. I believe it is OEM only, so you won't be able to find it in stores. The keys are very similar to the dinovo keyboard ones. I like the ultra-x feel more. I bought the wireless ultra-x desktop, but it's not the same. I liked the wired kb so much, I tried to buy a couple...
I'm finding it impossible to believe there is any missing information that we could have that would justify tazing the guy when he was already cuffed and on the ground. That point aside, there are people who think the situation went down just as I am imagining it, and think the cops did no...
glutenberg, he gets to sue because the officers are the ones who messed up the worst. Imagine if they wrestled his ass down, cuffed him, and carried him out, while the kid was kicking and screaming. Or if it took one shock to detain him, the situation wouldn't be nearly as appalling as it is...
You shouldn't have spent so much time on such a well thought out reply. Your time would have been better spent coming up with more "what ifs" to justify what the video showed. What if he was reaching for a detonator for a nuclear weapon??!?! Also, your post would have had more impact if you...
That is all I was trying to say. We have one kid, who could be an idiot and overly sensitive (and lets just say he is), and a group of cops who use that kind of force for a small offense, who also threaten bystanders (who are doing nothing illegal) with the same force. On top of that, we have...
Umm, no lives were saved because of their actions. Criminal, or not, the dude was cuffed and on the ground. Taze him again, in the name of safety??? The students in the video weren't scared that the kid might hurt them. The only thing they had to be scared of was getting tazed, themselves...
The cop should never have laid a hand on him. At the point where a cop stops acting like a cop should, we shouldn't follow his orders for sh!t. Right, the kid could have saved himself a lot of physical pain by just following orders, but that's a very poor attitude to have. Thomas Hobbes says...
You do not need to go out and buy a new video card. The x3000 is very new, so should support widescreen resolutions. The older intel onboard graphics chips could run that resolution just fine - as long as you're not playing games, of course. Just make sure you have the correct drivers for...
Check the seller's feedback and the previous items they sold. A lot of the sellers are reputable. I would avoid the ones who are selling laptops as a one-time thing.
You can get a 17" Dell E1705 right now for $1500 with these specs (I just configured it):
Core 2 Duo T7200 (2ghz 4mb)
WUXGA screen (1920x1200)
1gb of RAM (too expensive to upgrade through Dell)
256mb 7900gs
80gb 7200rpm hdd
8x DVD burner
integrated sound
Everything else is standard...
Wouldn't the right choice be the 7900GTX if you're going to step-up? You're going to have to pay the difference later, so might as well enjoy the 7900GTX now.
Thank you very much. I swapped the RAM and CPU back and forth many times between two computers trying to figure out what my cooling problem was and one set of memory wasn't working with the computer I wanted it to. I ended up having to remove everything on the mobo that had the messed up hard...
That tells me that if I convert it back, I will lose my data, which I don't want to do. I might have to though, seeing how I haven't been able to find anyone on the web with similar difficulties.
Soo maybe I can format it and recover the data with some software. Any recommendations in the...
I've been swapping hardware between two computers trying to get things working the way I wanted. This hardware did not include the hard drives. I never installed anything or ran any configuration programs that dealt with them, yet one of them (the one where I keep all my data) is now...
I've never actually seen one, but it's supposed to be really nice. My issue with ordering LCDs from newegg is their dead pixel policy. You're required to have 7 or 8 dead pixels before you're allowed to return/exchange it without a restocking fee. That's a lot of pixels.
Edit: bob4432...
20" monitors are pretty awesome. A 7600gt should run CS:S w/ high settings @ 1680x1050, and BF2 w/ medium settings. I highly recommend this: http://www.compusa.com/products/product...en=froogle&cm_cat=&cm_pla=&cm_ite=feed (thank froogle for the price)
I think the x1800xt is worth the extra...
Macs are too expensive. If Apple releases OS X for PCs, I'd either not bother with it, steal it, or try to get it at a massive discount through school.
I don't understand what's so hard about using a PC. I guess it could be slightly easier for a total computer noobie, but what's with people...
I used to play 10/20 to 30/60, but I don't play anymore (not financial reasons).
If you're serious about playing/learning/winning, those programs are essential, as long as you don't rely on them too much to make decisions while playing. Pokertracker is very good for displaying your own stats...
PartyPoker is going to run like crap pretty much no matter what. Most of the people I know play on single core cpus and it gets laggy after about 500 hands when a lot of tables are open. I don't have first hand experience, but when people say Raptors are slightly better most of the time, and...
Thank you, Ayah.
I preordered an E6600 at monarch for $349 shipped. That brings the total to $2693. That seems like a freakin lot for a pretty good computer and a mediocre one. Do you guys agree? How about with the ~$300 in Dell credit, does it all seem worth it? Any input on anything...
I was buying parts to eventually build a Core 2 Duo computer when Dell offered a deal on their XPS 700 which I jumped on. Here is what I got:
Pentium D 920
nforce 590 sli chipset
2 x 512mb DDR2-667
2 x 20" 2007wfp
2 x 256mb geforce 7900GS
250gb hdd
16x dvd burner
for $1421
Before...
Is it possible to play a game in full screen mode on one monitor and have something going on on the other (like having my Windows desktop on the left monitor, and the game on the right)?
Is it possible to have two mouse cursors for two different mice going at the same time?
Would having...
This is the first item I've ever listed on ebay. I just listed it today ($0.20 listing fee) and the only addon I got was the little picture next to the item title. Anyway, it's a broken laptop with a pretty high starting bid, as I did not want to pay to have a reserve. It has been up for less...
Solos will not be out for a while. Q2 2007, according to mike's hardware.
Which ISP and what kind of price break? It's a shame they won't help you build your own computer :(, but pretty awesome that they offer one at all, depending on how much they're giving back.
To the OP: The only...
