Most Important OC Factor?

I have an unlocked multipler by the way, a 965 C3. Does it matter if I get a particular clock speed of say 3.6ghz by way of multipler (with stock FSB) or different multipler (lower) and increased FSB? Does FSB increase performance by itself? Example: Which is better: 3.6 ghz by FSB...

What's more important to OC: FSB, HT, CPU mhz, or DRAM freq? My dilemma is such: my FSB can go as high as 340 stable... but then that means my DDR can only run stable at sub-optimal levels at ~1380 instead of 1600... But I can lower the FSB and get stock DRAM freq and decent CPU mhz... with...

AVG and SSD?

I installed AVG free 9.0 and I noticed that my SSD would not stop working... it seemed like AVG kept working endlessly in the background... ? obviously it wasn't scanning and resource monitor showed that it kept reading files in my system drive C: in the background, but it was accessing my drive...

Thanks. So AHCI enable BEFORE installation and wait for new firmware. Also, when would you recommend to use the wiper? And where is it at? lol. You said just once to run it? When?

Okay, Thank you! So if I use the stock SSD I can use the manual wipe tool to bring the performance back up? But using it without trim and then getting TRIM via the new firmware, this won't affect the SSD in the long run? It would be as if i had trim all along? I guess i am just worried about...

If I install the stock SSD and use it until the official release from intel, the degeneration that would have occured, probably very slight though, would it be reversed when TRIM is active? Would it be the same as if TRIM were active FROM the start? like, assuming the drive had TRIM now and it...

Okay guys... so until there is a new firmware from Intel, I am just going to do a fresh Win7 64 install. What do I need to know? Set AHCI 'BEFORE' windows installation in bios... is there anything else? Anything I should do in windows after installation?

Any other suggestions on what one is to do? ... Should I do a fresh Win7 64 bit install with the stock drive? or wait for the new official firmware? Also, what settings or specifics should I know about... AHCI? Anything else? Bios/windows?

Their processing really sucks. If you read my post above you will see what I mean. They sa up to 1-2 days of processing. Sounds more like "we don't want to spend the extra money on enough staff so let us have a few days to queue your order." They have a fairly nice shipping deal with FedEx...

I guess I am a noob here but you should turn off AHCI with the SSD? ALso, how do you turn it off and why? Excuse the silly question.

Actually you're right, their 'processing' time sucks. I have never got anything from zip before but I am so used to Newegg shipping the same day I order. I ordered one yesturday but it didn't ship that day so I then cancelled that order and ordered a new one when the price dropped and it shipped...

My Intel 80G G2R5 comes in tomorrow. Actually, my entire new build comes in tomorrow and I was planning on doing a clean Win7 install/format. My question is, should I wait until Intel releases their new TRIM firmware or use the stock firmware and update later? Obviously, I don't want to affect...

Question: the G2C1 is retail too right? Just like the G2R5? From what I understand, the G2C1 just doesn't come with the 'kit' but has the 3-year warrenty and is otherwise identical to the G2R5. Correct? Also, newegg didn't have it (G2C1) today. I, however, ended up ordering it from B&H even...
