Nope, the 4060 still sucks. I deal w/ them on a daily basis for PacBell DSL. If there is such thing as a win-dslmodem, this would be it. I would request a switch for an ethernet modem.
The BIOS is reporting the capability of each device. Its still a good idea to have DMA enabled in the device manager for any drive that will support it.

CRV is correct.. the only way to add the quick launch bar to win95 is start w/ whatever version of ie came w/ win95. then upgrade to ie4 sp1, enable the desktop web enhancements. Then the quick launch toolbar should be available. I believe win95 ver c already has the feature preloaded.

You can delete all the *.log, .old and .--- files. However, the win386.swp file is the win98 virtual memory file. You can delete it, but it will return on the next reboot. Some of the other files will return as well.. the log files can help you track down what bombed during boot and etc.
I just installed win me 3000.2 the other night and I had no troubles loading the win9x drivers for my sblive and v3 2000 agp. It picked up my modem clean. I did have some software compatibility, just simple warning messages from norton and partition magic, but they both installed ok. good luck.
I installed partition magic 5.01 in win-me, altho it did bring up a compatibiilty warning. I ignored it and everything loaded fine. If all else fails, you can always use the boot disks and do all the configuring from dear old dos mode.
It is possible to only load the drivers and nothing extra. Thats exactly how win2k first loaded my oem live card, after which I loaded the drivers from soundblaster.
