Below is the response I got from MSI technical support team for my query. Guess shouldn't be an issue using the old 300W SMPS with 12 W power connector generating 15A :).

hi o1die, as suggested I have tried it and it is working perfectly. Also I am not using any video cards ... so my guess is 15 A should suffice. My only concern is that in the motherboard manual they have written that the 12V power connector should be of minimum 18A. I just hope the processor...
Thanks for the response o1die. I am not using any video card. Actually what I am more concerned is whether there is any possible chance of damage to motherboard or the processor if I use this SMPS?
