I did not realize that the TR 140mm fan had 120mm mounting holes, I'll probably go with that one then as long as it fits. I was trying to stay with a 120mm cooling footprint which is why I ultimately decided against the Rampage IV Formula MB and the TR True 140 heat sink.

Whatever the BIOS has for fan control, I'm sure it will be fine. The Motherboard is an ASUS P9X79 PRO.
The Silverstone case is actually designed for positive air flow so the top fans are designed to be intakes but they are easy enough to switch/swap around if needed so I'm not too concerned...

The CPU is an i7-3930K and I guess I probably won't change the stock fan on the VenomousX as long as my temps are good. I was hoping to get 4-4.1 GHz with quiet operation. I just wanted to give myself some extra headroom in the cooling dept. just in case.
I have one of these coolers coming and will try the stock fan it comes with which is identical to the True Spirit 120 but if I decide to change the fan configuration what is the best fan to use on these VenomousX coolers?

You should be able to see ALL of your drives in the BIOS. Do you have the latest BIOS for your Motherboard? Have you tried another SATA Port or another SATA Cable? I had problems with one of my SATA Ports and even though it would detect drives in the BIOS, they would fail under Windows.
Well, I finally got tired of waiting for the new Intel Drives and picked up a 256GB Samsung 470 for $449 and I'm more than happy. Since I'm still using SATA 3 in an older system and needed at least 250GB, the Samsung will serve nicely as long as it holds up.

I think I've decided to go with the SSD, the VelociRaptors are just too expensive for what you get anymore. If only Anand would do a review of the Samsung 470 with the current firmware revision to see if it improved the "TRIM" support issue that Tech Report found...

Can't you just do a Win7 "System Image" Backup and restore it to a new SSD without a cloning tool? I was going to try this but haven't had a chance yet. Of course you'd have to manually optimize a few settings after but other than that it should work right...

If I was building my own server, I would strongly consider putting in my own drives assuming full responsibility of course.
If I was advising someone else, I would explain to them the differences and let them make the call since it would be their money and not mine.
I understand Supply and Demand but the prices were so far out of whack I thought maybe there was something else going on since I don't buy lots of server stuff on a regular basis.
