Well there goes that theory... but still a) Adul's a "lifer" now... riiight b) Go look 99% of the elites... all Oct99 - coincidence? I think not... despite the fact that that was the start of AT forums in it's current form, you'd expect a fair few from Nov, Dec etc etc.

2 quick questions about 512MB DDR RAM... Please help!

Mushkin are right up there with Crucial when it comes to RAM - I've generally heard good things about Kingston too, not as much as Mushkin though Congrats Epsil0n00... not too much neffing I hope :D

Anyone game for a Gigabyte Radeon 8500 or 7500?

Interesting... The possibility here is that we might see some decent drivers if Gigabyte or any other 3rd party manufacturer decides to make their own drivers for their Radeon-based cards. Also, guessing by the cost of recent 3rd party offerings based on Radeon (old Radeon) and Kryo/KryoII...

Well said imgod2u, and pardon my ignorance about PowerPC being made by Motorola rather than Apple - I was aware it was made by Motorola but I thought it was Apple technology. Incedentally, I remember my copy of NT4 mentioned something about compatibility of PowerPC as well as the main x86...

Iwill have a Dual S370 DDR board, theDVD266, which I believe was AT's top pick when they did a dual S370 compo not long ago. Lowest price is $134 on pricewatch. Newegg don't have 'em new, only refurb for $140.

Am I going to Hell? I may have to build a i845 based system. Talk me out of it if possible..

Yeah that's what I was thinking, but the files are 7.5MB or something, and it's the wrong end to burn (laptop to PC), and they're on different networks, so I sorta have to use a, gasp... disk :o
