What is the stock voltage for an E6300? Intel's spec sheet claims a range from .85-1.35V. My motherboard (DS3) runs it at 1.3 at 'normal' setting. I'm thinking of undervolting this CPU (at stock speed) to cool it down.
Has anyone tried this and how far down did you go? Thanks!
I have a E6300 running stock with a DS3 and I have temperatures within 1-2 degrees of yours idle and loaded. I think it is normal with the stock HSF. Whether or not it is too high, I don't know. Intel specs 61C for the max limit but I've run the processor at 69C with no issues (temp readings...
Are you getting NB temps with a physical probe or are you using software? If software, which one? Under Easytune, it only gives the CPU and system temps.
Has anyone enabled Intel QST (Quiet System Technology) in the bios? I tried it and Windows asks for a PCI Simple communications controller driver. Right now I'm running fan mode in Auto.
This may be a stupid question but here goes anyway.
I was playing with the fan control mode in the bios and tried to activate an apparently bad combination causing a bios reset. After selecting a valid combination of fan control method (Intel QST) and control mode (PWM), and booting into...
It works. It even boots at 1.8V and I'm running it at 1.8V with no problems. I have that same setup and it's been running for almost a week now. I got the corsair xms ram from mwave, a DS-3 from newegg, and the 6300 from ZZF.
Get it and have fun!
Just put together an E6300 system with a DS3 mobo. I notice that DVD drive access is delayed but once it gets going it's fine. The delay can be as much as 30 seconds. It also does it in Windows Explorer. Explorer would just hang there for 30 seconds.
I read that the DS3 has raid issues...
