    I got capped at 90-100mbps till I checked one of the ethernet cables in the loop; it was only 2-pair, although still (wrongly?) labelled as Cat 5e. 2-pair has a max speed of 100mbit. Once I switched to a 4-pair Cat 5e (gigabit) I started maxing out my 200/200mbps fibre line instantly.

    Changed cable and reinstalled, nope didn't work. Will try changing monitors now but I doubt that's the problem. Before I installed the drivers the monitor name was correct, so was max RF rate and resolution so it looks like Vista had the right INF file in place prior to installing the NV driver

    Well, if you took it off to check it would defeat the purpose, since you'd have to reapply it again for optimum performance. Removing then reattaching the heatsink will produce air bubbles in the TIM.
