Help me choose a motherboard

Hi all I am upgrading my current PC ( 2 year old) from e6700 CPU to Q9300 or something in that quad core line and my asus p5b deluxe motherboard as well. I think I know what kind of graphic cards to get but the question is what kind of motherboard should i get if I want to keep my Crucial pc2...

Memory for P5b Deluxe

Hello. I'm looking to upgrade my RAM. I have Asus P5b Deluxe. Last time I bought G-Skill, didn't post so I RMAed. I hear only good things about Corsairs so I would prefer getting Corsairs but if there's better buys than Corsair(price/performance) ,please let me know. Thank you

Scythe Infinity a good choice for the E6600?

I think i'm going to buy it given that it's at least better than Scythe Mine I have now. Don't know if it's better than Ninja tho.

So to sum up C2D???

I'm loving my e6600 except that it's hotter than I thought(40C idle) but performance-wise, I have no complaints yet. I haven't OCed cuz it's already damn fast and will see how even faster it can get later when I finally OC it.

Poll for Asus/ conroe users temps

EastCoast, I have exactly same problem. I've grown to develop some sorta phobia of heat. Mine idles around 42 or so and never went over 52 under load but I want to be able to OC soon but with this temp, I don't see a chance...I'm going to upgrade the CPU fan and see how it goes...

I give up

Hello! My e6600 with Scythe Mine Cooler is runnning hot but not only that, my mobo runs about 45C idle. My CPU is at 46C idle according to SpeedFan and 40C according to CoreTemp I just reseated the HSF but this did not help. When I booted, I went into BIos, and saw the temp around 32-33C but...

Best Air Flowing Case

Welll the CPU runs 40 C Idle. I have e6600 with Scythe MineCooler. I just upgraded the rear fan with Thermaltake and lowered 1C lol I wanted to overclock sooner or later but before doing so, I wanted to make sure that I have safe temps to attempt to OC. Should I worry about getting a new CPU...

Help with Conroe Temp

Well before I overclock this thing, I thought I upgrade the CPU Fan so that i don't overheat this baby. Compared to other folks here, I am in the hot zone. I never hit 59C but hit 52C before. Is Ninja Fan a good upgrade from Scythe Mine Cooler tho?

Best Air Flowing Case

Hello My centrion 5 doesn't seem to have good air flow. Only has 2 fans front and back and I don't thik the stock fans work that great. Should I just upgrade the fans and mod the case or is there a good air flowing case that's worth to buy? I'm looking around 100$ not more than 120$

Help with Conroe Temp

Thanks for reply. Well When I first turned on PC this morning, went into Bios, and saw CPU Temp of 31C then it got higher in about 1-2 minutes to 36C. I booted up XP and checked core Temp and it showed 38C. I seriously want to change the fan and see how it does. Btw, What's the best air...

*** Official ASUS P5B / P5B Deluxe Thread ***

Dude mine with e6600 also idles around 40C I did everything I could but no luck. I kinda gave up now and just watch the temp here and there. It never went over 48C. If anyone could tell me a solution for it, it would be very appreciated.

how much AS5?

Yeah it's a long story and will prolly never happen again. lol. It's working fine now tho. So if my system is running at 34-38 idle, i shouldn't worry about it then. ?

Screensaver Error

Hello Everytime I go to RightClick on Desktop and click Screensaver, my system hangs. It gives me tiles of this weird image and doesn't come back. I have to reboot by pressing reset button. What's wrong??? Thanks!

Zalman for asus MB

Hey Is there a Zalman CPU fan for ASUS P5B Deluxe? I checked their website but mine isn't on the compatibility list? Also would Zalman be able to drop my temp(idle at 40C with Scythe MineCooler) a little bit??? Thanky!

Core 2 Duo overheating with stock HSF

Hey My e6600 also idles at 40C with Scythe Mine. I tried to reseat it a couple of times and it actually dropped from 50C. I haven't done Prime test on it yet cuz it's already idling at 40C and didn't want to overheat it. Any CPU Fans you recommend for Asus P5B Deluxe Wi-Fi mobo?

club it seems to have Oems e6600

I got mine from ClubIT also. Oem and yes like others, I couldn't resist either. The CPU came in an AMD case tho lol

Help a noob who spilt AS5 on Cpu Pins!

I had it put on another system. That frigging friend(roomie) made a deal with me and use my conroe until all my parts arrive and I can use his computer with my conroe in whenever I want. Anyways, it wasn't carpet. It was sorta kitchen floor. And contacts touched nothing but the black plastic...

Help a noob who spilt AS5 on Cpu Pins!

frigging friend comes over and insists that he aids me cleaning it up. He sets it up on a table that's about slightly lower than knee-high(im about 5'11"). He dabbs Q-Tip and I gently clean up the gold contacts. All done, relieved but my friend, not a friend any more!, dropps it! Fortunately...

Thanks for the quick reply. I was thinking of getting the ArctiClean thing to clean but now that i know, i'll try the isopropyl alcolhol stuff with Q-Tips. Won't the alcohol get inside the CPU thru the gold contacts tho? Man I'm so noobish that i'm afraid to do anythng right now...

Hi, new member and noob here I was trying to reinstall the CPU and HSF since my e6600 was getting 40C idle with Scythe Mine Cooler. I was cleaning up the HSF and the CPU. AFter all that, I go and install the CPU but before, i align the triangle and just looked at the bottom. DAMN...
