hmm, thanks guys. Okay, so you recommend going with Win 2003 SBE verses ubuntu linux? I've never used windows 2003 SBE, does that come with something that'll notify me if it's died?

the SC-440, lowest config, without OS, is $757. Windows Small Business 2003 R2 pre-install Standard adds $500, tape drive adds $400. Don't know where you found your price w/ an OS.

A client of mine who has an office with 8 people, handling really important data, and that data is mainly on each machine, not backed up, wants to upgrade to a central file server with redundancy, for $1k or less. They've got some older PII 300s, and an old PII 400 Compaq Proliant 1600...

Phile: sorry if this has been asked before, but the search function doesn't work. You told me fsb of 333, but I see no place to change the fsb. Are the built in OC profiles any good? Currently running the 30% one and i'm at 3.1ghz, dunno about fsb or mem speed/timings, but it's staying below...

I'm leaning toward the PSU being the problem here. I'm not sure how hot that card can get, but my ATI 9800 makes a ton of heat, even when it's not under stress. I'd get in contact with newegg and explain what happened to the PSU during shipping. They should send you another.

@phil: Awesome. I'm confused at the picture though, but I assume it'll make more sense once I recieve it. Not quite sure why one of the connectors has an X on it. I'm assuming it's two identical cables and not one and just one end is Xed out.

Noise isn't really an issue, and the case includes one fan already, so I'm just gonna get one. Looked at Lian Li, but personally like the case I found a bit better. Great reviews on it too. @Howard: Huh?

I've swapped out the OCZ PSU for a Entermax Liberty 500W, and the CoolerMaster heatsink/fan for a Zalmzn 9500. Kinda went over budget, ($140), but not too bad. Any other suggestions?

See the newegg wishlist which I just linked to for info about the fan and PSU. Only reason I picked that PSU is it was (I believe) the cheapest <600w one. Plus I figured modular would make it a hell of a lot better for airflow. Copying CDs, etc. They're hella cheap now, so I figured I'd go...
