Which chipset to get? - Just need something solid

Thanks for the replies! I guess the nForce 2 is the route to go.....Yield, I can get the 8RDA for $105 shipped according to pricewatch. What is the difference between the "+" models and the non +? From what I can see, it's just integrated LAN. If the quality is the same, I think I will go...

Hi, A month or so ago, I asked about what motherboard to get, etc. I was given the Epox 8K9A2+, Epox 8K5A2, and the Gigabyte GA-7VAXP as suggestions. What I would like to know now is: Would the newer chipsets benefit me? I am not going to overclock at all, so don't take that into...

Looking for new motherboard - any to stay away from?

Thanks for the help guys. Here's another (hopefully) easy quesiton for you guys. There are 2 different kinds of AMD Athlon XP processors....the old XP one, and the new Thoroughbread ones. What is the difference? Would a slower TB benefit me more than a non-TB that's just slightly faster?

Justus, Thanks for the reply. Do the motherboards I list support 2700 DDR RAM? I'm just not sure if those are classified as "new" technology or not....Would you have any suggestions of specific motherboards that would meet your requirements? I'm not going to overclock and will not use RAID...

BSOD at startup -- please help!

Ok folks, I've been up and running with (another) fresh install of Windows XP for about 4 hours or so. :) I replaced the RAM, but that wasn't enough. I was still having problems with my video card. So, I replaced that as well. We will see.... *fingers crossed* Brad

Thanks for the replies!! I thought I had it figured out a couple days ago....I thought it was my video card, because after installing any version of nvidia drivers, it would boot back up to a BLACK screen (like my monitor wasn't even on). The weirdest thing I've seen yet. So I tried another...
